At 2pm AEST on Monday the 27th July AusAlert will be sending an emergency test alert to all phones across Australia.

This is only a test, so there is no need to panic. It is critical to do these types of test in case of a real emergency.

Last night at the Good Friday Appeal Regional Thank You event 🌟, we were proud to stand alongside Mannerim, Ocean Grove and Portarlington — together our brigades made an incredible contribution to this year's Appeal! 🙌

Funds raised go beyond the Royal Children's Hospital, supporting health services in Barwon South West as well as other regional centres — making a difference for kids across Victoria.

Clean out your chimney flue, or this may unfortunately happen to you.

There is nothing better than a nice fire to keep you warm on these cold winter days. However, inside your chimney flues, creosote and blockages are life threatening.

🔥 Creosote: highly flammable substance that builds up on the sides of the flue from burning wood!

🔥 Blockages: soot, nests and debris can block the flue, meaning substances such as Carbon Monoxide cannot be released from your home. Blockages can also be flammable!

Keeping your chinmeny flues clear helps to prevent dangerous house fires and toxic Carbon Monoxide poisoning.

Please keep warm, safe and clean out your chimney flues!

It might have been 3degC and foggy, but we couldn't pass up a great training opportunity. These live-fire training props provide a rare chance to rotate roles and practice different techniques.
Thanks Leopold Fire Brigade for the invite and to the hardy members who turned up and got soaked in water on a very cold night!

This demanding course takes many weeks of significant commitment and effort- covering both theory and practical training and assessments.
