Compost magic…today we transformed these old banana trunks into mulch for the garden beds. During these hot days it’s so important to cover up our soil with organic matter to hold in the moisture.

For all keen gardeners, a reminder that as it’s daylight saving time, the official starting time for Saturday morning’s gardening bee is 9. This of course doesn’t stop anyone from coming earlier, later, or anytime you feel an urge to dig up weeds, tend to the worm farm or water the crops.

The working bee this Sunday, 21 December, is only a few days before Christmas. It would be good to bring a plate, some cold drinks, and celebrate the end of the year after our labours.

Today was the annual Dulwich Hill Festival. Our stall was a great success – not only with the many plants we sold (mainly spring herbs) but also the many people who learnt about us for the first time
