Bayside's libraries offer free early literacy programs during the school term, with stories, songs, rhymes, games and craft designed for different ages and stages.

👶 Baby Rhymetime: songs and rhymes for ages 0 to 18 months
🎵 Toddlertime: songs, games and stories for children up to age 3
📖 Storytime: stories, songs and craft for ages 3 to 5

Walk ins are welcome at Arncliffe, Bexley North, Mascot and Sans Souci Libraries. Bookings are required at Eastgardens and Rockdale Libraries.

Bayside council is inviting community feedback on its draft Community Venues Annual Allocation Policy and Procedures.

The draft Policy and Procedures have been developed to improve the fairness, transparency and consistency of how Council-managed community venues are allocated.

The proposed approach includes clear assessment criteria for applications, an Expression of Interest process for a two-year venue hire period, and annual reporting requirements for hirers receiving financial assistance from Council.

Bayside Council has adopted a new Clothing Bin Policy for clothing bins located on Council-owned land.

All existing and prospective clothing bin operators must submit an EOI application to place or retain a clothing bin on Council-owned land. Operators must meet the eligibility requirements and agree to the Clothing Bin Policy and Service Agreement.

🗓️ The EOI process has opened and closes on 30 November 2026.

Successful operators will only be permitted to place or retain clothing bins at Council-approved locations. Operators who do not apply, or whose application is unsuccessful, will be required to remove their clothing bins from Council-owned land.

Bayside Council is teaming up with The Get Grubby Program to make sustainability education fun and engaging for children aged 3 to 10.

Local early learning services, primary schools and families will have access to curriculum aligned videos, activities and resources featuring dirtgirl, scrapboy and Costa the Garden Gnome, covering everything from gardening and composting to recycling, reuse and reducing waste.
