Teamwork makes the patient-centred care dream work!

💚🚑💚🚁💚

Last month, SAAS paramedics responded to a patient in the Flinders Ranges who had become unwell on a hike.

Together with their Babcock, SES, CFS and National Parks and Wildlife SA colleagues, SAAS Remote trained paramedic Philip and rescue paramedics Clinton and Simon reached and stabilised the patient. Clinton and Simon then winched the patient to the State Rescue Helicopter before taking the patient to hospital.

The rescue was co-ordinated by our Emergency Operations Centre, with additional support provided by clinicians based there.

Great work everyone!

Congratulations to Coober Pedy Ambulance Officers Kerryn and Tyrene who received the 2025 SA Fire and Emergency Services Commendation award today, recognising significant effort and bravery.

Kerryn and Tyrene were awarded for their outstanding efforts in delivering exceptional patient care under extremely challenging circumstances. Responding to a patient in a very remote location, they played a critical role in providing continuous care for more than 25 hours and were instrumental in ensuring the patient's safety.

Well done Kerryn and Tyrene! 👏👏

🚑🚨SAAS participated in RAA Street Smart High last week, a youth road safety event that encourages young adults to drive safely by showing what happens at a major crash. We’re proud to be part of this program, with our crew members involved as part of the demonstration, showcasing practical education to high school students.
