Today we celebrate all the dads, stepdads, grandfathers and father figures in our community, including the dads within our own crew who balance family life with being ready to answer the call when our community needs them.

Did you know Fire and Rescue NSW offers free Home Fire Safety Visits to help make your home safer?

Our firefighters can visit your home, check that your smoke alarms are working and correctly located, replace eligible smoke alarms where required, and provide practical advice tailored to your home and circumstances.

Safe to say, not everyone was equally interested in the fire safety talk… some were more interested in making friends with the Captain.

Today, members of the Camden 248 crew took on the MND Firies 24-Hour Climb, tackling the 951 Furber Steps at Scenic World, Katoomba in full firefighting gear.

951 steps. One fight. One cause.

It was a tough climb for an incredibly important cause, supporting those living with Motor Neurone Disease, their families, and the ongoing fight to find a cure.

The crew have already raised an incredible amount thanks to everyone who has supported them, and donations are still open! Every dollar makes a difference.

🚨 ROAD CLOSURE – CAMDEN 🚨

Fire and Rescue NSW are currently assisting at a burst water main on John Street.

John Street is closed in both directions at Argyle Street. Please avoid the area, use an alternate route and follow the directions of emergency services.

We’ll provide further updates when available.

Northbound John Street is currently closed, with one eastbound lane of Argyle Street remaining open.

Delays are expected to continue into the morning. Please avoid the area where possible, allow extra travel time and follow the directions of emergency services.

Today, three firefighters from Fire and Rescue NSW Station 248 Camden took on the 14km City2Surf, with an added challenge… completing the course in full structural firefighting gear!

It was a tough run, but all three crossed the finish line proudly representing Camden 248 and supporting Beat the Burn.

Across Fire and Rescue NSW, an incredible $109,000+ was raised for Beat the Burn, supporting children and families impacted by serious burn injuries.

A massive thank you to everyone who donated, supported and cheered our firefighters on along the way. Every dollar helped contribute to an amazing cause.

We might be feeling the 14km tomorrow… but it was absolutely worth it!

Today, Camden Fire Station was proud to officially receive our upgraded fire appliance, enhancing our ability to serve and protect the Camden community.

We were honoured to welcome Sally Quinnell MP, representatives, Zone Management, and members of our crew for the official handover ceremony.

This upgraded appliance represents an important investment in frontline emergency response capabilities, ensuring our firefighters have access to modern equipment to support the diverse needs of our growing community.

A sincere thank you to everyone involved in bringing this project to fruition and to those who joined us to mark this significant milestone.

We look forward to continuing to serve the Camden community with this valuable addition to our station.
