🌊 Early starts to help keep our surfers safe!

Marine Rescue Evans Head is proudly providing water safety patrols for the Evans Head Malibu Comp each morning from 6–9 am.

We’ve supported this local event every year for the past 12 years, and our volunteer crews are pleased to be back on the water again. 🛥️🏄

Good luck to all competitors, and thank you to our volunteers for their time and dedication!

💛 Today is R U OK? Day 💛

At Marine Rescue Evans Head, looking out for one another is part of who we are. A simple conversation can make a real difference, not just today, but every day.

Take a moment to check in with a mate, colleague, family member or neighbour. Ask “Are you OK?”, listen without judgement and encourage them to seek support if needed.

You don’t need to be an expert, you just need to be there.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grandfathers, stepdads and father figures in our Marine Rescue family.

Yesterday, we especially thanked those who generously volunteer their time to keep our community safe, often giving up precious time with their own families.

We hope you all enjoyed a wonderful and well-deserved Father’s Day!

A Busy August for Marine Rescue Evans Head!

EH31 began the month with a trip to Yamba for repairs and its 650-hour engine service.

Once back on the water, the crew assisted a vessel with engine trouble east of Snapper Rock, following it safely across the Evans Head Bar.

Our volunteers also responded to a vessel taking on water near North Ground and successfully towed it back to the pontoon.

Most recently, EH31 assisted a 36-foot catamaran struggling against strong northerly winds, escorting it safely across the Ballina Bar.

While our crews have been busy on the water, our radio operators have provided vital support from shore. Our fundraising team has also been working hard to raise the funds needed to keep our unit operational and ready to respond.

Rescues, radio calls, training, fundraising and maintenance—it has certainly been all hands on deck this August!

Well done to the whole team. 💙
