The Queensland Fire Department has advised that all current Permits to Light Fire will be suspended from:
๐

๐ญ๐ก๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ ๐ก ๐ญ๐จ
๐
๐๐:๐๐๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐
๐ซ๐ข๐๐๐ฒ, ๐ ๐๐๐ญ๐จ๐๐๐ซ ๐๐๐๐
This applies across the ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐๐ญ, ๐๐ฉ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ข๐๐ก, ๐๐จ๐๐ค๐ฒ๐๐ซ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ฒ, ๐๐๐๐ง๐ข๐ ๐๐ข๐ฆ and ๐๐จ๐ ๐๐ง council areas.
โ ๏ธ IMPORTANT โ THIS IS NOT A FIRE BAN.
The suspension means that fires requiring a Permit to Light Fire cannot be lit during this period, even if a permit has already been issued.
๐ฅ Fires that do not require a permit, including fires under 2m ร 2m ร 2m, may still be permitted at this time, subject to the normal requirements and any local restrictions.
With the current dry conditions, we strongly encourage everyone to exercise extra caution. If you do light a small fire, please ensure you have an adequate water supply or hose connected, nearby and ready for immediate use, and never leave the fire unattended.
The suspension has been introduced due to the current operational environment, significant soil and fuel dryness, forecast weather conditions and a number of recent escaped permitted burns requiring firefighting resources.
