✨ A Magical Evening at Woornack ✨

At Doutta Galla Woornack, we believe that dining should always be an experience to cherish. Recently, we transformed standard meals into a sophisticated, restaurant-quality fine dining experience for a special couple’s evening. 🍷🍽️

Our residents enjoyed a seasonal, chef-prepared menu featuring gourmet dishes made with high-quality ingredients, perfectly paired with a nice wine. With elegant table settings, crisp linens, and the soft glow of candlelight, the atmosphere was truly magical. 🕯️✨

To set the perfect mood, a gentle playlist of jazz, instrumental bossa nova, and soft classical music played in the background, maintaining a volume where everyone could comfortably speak and socialise at a normal level. 🎶

Events like these are so important to us because they promote dignity, support nutritional health, and allow our residents and their loved ones to connect in a warm, dignified atmosphere.

A special thank you to our wonderful volunteers for the care, companionship and kindness they bring to our home. We would especially like to recognise our beloved volunteers, Fe and Charmain, who are always there for us, rain or shine.

Your time, dedication and generosity help create meaningful moments and brighter days for our residents. We are so grateful for everything you do.

Our Avondale Heights community had some very special, scaly (and furry!) guests visit from Reptile Encounters.

Bryce stopped by and shared his incredible knowledge about some of Australia's most amazing creatures. We got up close and personal with black cockatoos, frilled-neck and blue-tongued lizards, snakes, turtles, and even a crocodile!

We also got to meet an extremely rare, tiny marsupial called a Woylie (brush-tailed bettong). 🦘✨

It was such a magical day that even our most reluctant residents couldn't resist joining in on the fun.

We had a wonderful afternoon tea for National Volunteer Week, filled with shared stories and a whole lot of gratitude for the incredible people who give their time to Harmony.

We recently celebrated National Volunteers Week with a heartfelt "Thank You" luncheon, certificates, and small tokens of appreciation! 💖 A massive thank you to all of our incredible volunteers for their invaluable time, energy, and dedication to our residents. 🙏✨

Here are a couple of special highlights from the day:

🌟 Maureen (14 Years of Service): Rain or shine, Maureen has been here every Tuesday morning for 14 years, providing essential love and support to our most vulnerable residents. 🌧️☀️

📰 Hugo Cuchilla (Resident Volunteer): Our wonderful resident Hugo (spot him in the white shirt! 👇) brings smiles every morning delivering newspapers and helps keep the competitive spirit alive by running our weekly AFL footy tipping group! 🏉🏆

Every single contribution, no matter how big or small, makes our community a brighter place. We are truly thankful for everything you do! 💕

Celebrating Our Healthcare Heroes on International Nurses Day! 💙

This week, Doutta Galla Aged Services came together to celebrate the incredible nurses and personal care assistants (PCAs) who bring heart, skill, and tireless dedication to our homes every single day.

From shared treats to heartfelt messages, it was a joy to see the community honour those who make an immeasurable difference in the lives of our residents.

It was wonderful to see residents joining in the fun, even donning nurse caps to show their appreciation for the staff.

A huge thank you to all our staff and student nurses for your selfless commitment to healing and comforting our community. We are so lucky to have you as part of the Doutta Galla family!

For International Nurses Day at our Harmony Village Home in Shepparton, we are celebrating our wonderful nurses across every shift to say thank you for the incredible work they do! 🏥✨

We also want to give a very special shout-out to our resident, Naomi. Naomi was a nurse at GV Hospital for many years and recently tried on her original nursing uniform. It still fits like a glove! 🧤💙 While she might have lost the belt along the way, she certainly hasn't lost that nursing spirit.
