Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a series of criminal damages at the Laverton train station between 21 April and 2 May.

Investigators have released an image of a man who may be able to assist with enquiries.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a sexual assault in that occurred on route 408 bus from Highpoint Shopping Centre on 19 December, 2024.

It is believed the offender sat next to the victim at approximately 3.12pm and sexually assaulted her.

The offender has been described as male, very tall - minimum 180cm, medium build, African descent, short matted curly black hair, brown eyes with the whites of his eyes being yellow, no beard but a stubble moustache, big lips and wearing an afro pick in the right side of his hair.

He was wearing a black t-shirt, beige/brown zipped jacket with a collar, black shiny trousers and black shoes and wearing a beige bandana across his forehead. The male was also carrying a half-empty bottle of Jack Daniels.

When the community needed help the most, these members answered the call - and help saved lives.

They have since been recognised for their extraordinary actions on the frontline.

Acting Sergeant Mehmet, Senior Constable Colliver and Constable Woestyne received Divisional Commendations after responding to a critically injured unconscious man at Melbourne Central in December 2024.

Faced with heavy crowds, limited radio communication and a rapidly unfolding situation, the team worked together to secure the area and provide lifesaving first aid until Ambulance Victoria arrived.

Two officers from the North West Metro region were also awarded Commendations after locating a high-risk missing person in dense bushland near Dights Falls Reserve late at night.

Searching rough terrain in cold conditions, the pair found the man exhausted and barely able to move, staying by his side and providing care until paramedics arrived.

The determination and commitment of all officers undoubtedly helped save lives.

On , we recognise every emergency worker across Victoria — including these members — who continue to show up for the community during its most critical moments.

The 42-year-old was last heard from at approx. 12:30pm on the 03/06/2026.

It is believed he frequents the Colac, Geelong, and Melbourne area.

Police and family have concerns for his welfare due to a medical condition.

Homicide Squad detectives have charged a man following the death of a man in Footscray on Sunday evening.

A man was located with serious injuries behind a licenced premises on Nicholson Street, near Irvine Street, about 7.45pm on 7 June.

Emergency services worked on the 25-year-old South Yarra man, but he died at the scene.

Police arrested a 37-year-old Williamston man without incident at Yarraville Railway Station about 8.30pm yesterday.

He has been charged with murder and will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.

It's believed the parties were known to one another.

Man charged following Footscray death A man was located with serious injuries behind a licenced premises on Nicholson Street, near Irvine Street, about 7.45pm on 7 June.

Operation Stand officers continue to deliver as they crack down on recidivist and aggressive retail thieves in the Melbourne CBD and Yarra PSA.

Their latest catch is a 38-year-old Footscray man who is alleged to have stolen over $30,000 worth of goods from supermarkets, department stores and other retail outlets between October 2025 and May 2026.

Good allegedly stolen include vitamins, medicines, sanitary goods, perfumes/fragrances, baby formula and luxury handbags.

It's believe that the goods were then on-sold to a third party buyer.

The man was arrested in Carnegie on 4 June and has been charged with 44 counts of shop steal.

He has been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 1 December.
