Cubby House Toy Library EarlyEd’s Cubby House Toy Library is an inclusive toy library, supporting families for over 40 years. Play is a great way to support your child’s development.

EarlyEd’s Cubby House Toy Library has over 2,000 toys, games and books suitable for children aged from birth to primary school age. Carefully selected by our educators, occupational therapists, speech pathologists and physiotherapists, these toys provide children with fun opportunities to practice many developmental skills such as gross motor, fine motor, cognitive and language skills. Volunteers help support the library. Qualified early intervention teachers and therapists can be available, by appointment, to help parents select suitable toys and find ways to support play.

What beautiful spring weather we are enjoying. Time for some planting. This is always good to do on the weekend.
It is easy to make these capsicum seeds grow. It doesn't cost anything as you are using things you would normally just throw away - seeds from a capsicum and a plastic tomato container. And it so easy.
The plastic box keeps the moisture inside so you don't even need to remember to water the plants. it takes quiet a few days before you get the excitement of them sprouting.

Care for a carer.

This National Carers Week EarlyEd is recognising and raising awareness about the more than 3 million Australians who provide unpaid care to a family member or friend.

Carer supports offered by EarlyEd.

Many EarlyEd families are telling us about their concerns about their future caring roles as parents as they learn about and prepare for changes to NDIS and other supports (as a result of legislative changes and the roll out of Thriving Kids supports).

EarlyEd has MyTime, Carer’s Gateway groups and supported playgroups as its way of supporting the carer’s in our area caring for children. They also help keep carers informed.

The 2026 theme, shines a light on the invaluable contribution of unpaid carers and encourages all Australians to recognise, support and care for the carers in their family, workplaces and communities.

Carer’s need our support and recognition. The Carer Wellbeing Survey found carers who had good access to support had healthy levels of wellbeing compared to those who had no or limited access to help.

Suggested tips for carers to help you find the support you need:

- Take up offers of help
- Be comfortable asking for help. Often people don’t know what to suggest.
- Encourage others to call you or arrange a break, walk or activities.

Spring time!!! A time when there are lots of flowers in bloom.
Have you noticed all the flowers that are in bloom at the moment?
Go for a walk and look at the flowers.
Smell the flowers. Do you like the smell?
Look at the different parts of the flower. Can you see the petals, the leaves, the stem?
Get closer to flowers. If you look carefully you might see bugs crawling along them. Can you see any?

MyTime is a local program that connects you with families who know what supports are around your area.

It is somewhere to go every week just for you (and your child as we have a supported playgroup as well).

Join us at Kellyville on Tuesday and St Ives on Monday.

National Carers Week is a chance to recognise the significant contribution carers make every day, and carry that recognition forward through support year-round. At MyTime, we acknowledge the care, time and commitment carers give, and the importance of feeling supported themselves.

Across Australia, carers support the people they care for, often while managing pressures on their own health, wellbeing and finances. Small gestures can help carers feel seen and supported:

– Write a card or send a message acknowledging what they do.
– Make time to listen and ask how they’re going.
– Drop off some groceries or a home-cooked meal.
– Enjoy a coffee or a walk together.

For carers of children with disability, developmental delay or chronic health conditions, connecting with people who understand can make a meaningful difference. Evidence tells us that peer support, like what MyTime offers, can strengthen parents’ confidence and wellbeing, with potential benefits for their children and family life.

MyTime offers a welcoming space for parents and carers to feel connected, heard, understood and supported. Find a MyTime group near you: https://www.mytime.net.au/groups/

Come and play and listen to our interactive Ready to Learn Online Story Time every Thursday at 10.00am. It’s a great opportunity to support your child’s language and literacy development and connect with other children.
Great whether it is hot/cold or rainy so you can stay inside and play!

What will the story be this week?
The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle

“In the light of the moon a little egg lay on a leaf. One Sunday morning the warm sun came up and pop! – out of the egg came a tiny and very hungry caterpillar. He started to look for some food”.
Let’s celebrate Spring together with this classic story - The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

How can reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar help support your child’s learning?
Relatable easy to follow storyline – allowing children to follow sequence of events and predicting what might happen next.
Build’s vocabulary through hearing new words, descriptive words, concepts.
Children can get an understanding on nature and science through the butterfly lifecycle.
