The sweetest little dolly was in need of many hours of tlc. Her suit had worn very thin and had lost most of it original velvet....to maintain her, I lined the inside of her suit and hat, giving it alot more hidden strength.
Her face and hands had lost all their original 'skin' and needed recovering.
Once i removed her suit, she was a very fascinating creation....felted body and head, with hands and feet which had originally been strung through felt half limbs, almost like a puppet.
There were remnants of a mesh covering, so i was able to replicate that with a tubular mesh, which will also hold the felt together longer.
New socks to cover her feet, blanket stitched over the seams to neaten them, did the same with her hands, and the edge of her hat.
Two tiny embroidered eyes, gave her sweet face just the hint of expression and character.
I really enjoyed this little one. 🪡🧵💙

A day of mixing and moulding and fiddly fun...
Shaping and sanding, and making them some.
Fingers and toes and a hip joint or two.
Here in the workshop, that's just what we do.
