Thank you to everyone who attended the Pako Festa 2024, making it one of the most memorable event of the year. I would like to extend a wholehearted thank you to all The Greater Geelong Nepalese communist members, Ram dai and his team members, Bina, Nari Nikunja, Victoria and Renuka sis, Mekail bhai, Mahek bahini, Barsha and Raj sis and especially Mahek nanu for her wonderful stage performance on Nepalese folk songs. It was truly a showcase of our rich cultural heritage.

One of the main objectives of the Pako Festa was to promote the fact that Buddha was born in Nepal. It was an opportunity for us to educate and showcase our culture and traditions to the wider community. Our members wore their ethnic dresses with pride, representing their respective cultures and traditions. It was a beautiful sight to see the diversity within our community and how we came together to celebrate our shared heritage.

The Pako Festa was not just a celebration of Nepalese culture, but it was also a celebration of multiculturalism. We were fortunate to have cultural performances from various communities, including Indian, Chinese, Indonesian, Bulgarian, Croatian etc. The festival truly reflected the diversity of our community, and it was heartwarming to see everyone coming together to celebrate and appreciate each other's cultures.

The festival was a wonderful showcase of traditional music, dance, and food. The vibrant beats of the traditional drums and the colorful costumes of the dancers were a treat for the eyes and ears. The aroma of delicious multicultural cuisines filled the air, tempting everyone to try a bite. It was a feast for all the senses, and it was a great way to introduce our culture to the wider community.

One of the most heartwarming moments of the Pako Festa was seeing the younger generation actively participating in the festival. It was inspiring to see them dressed in traditional attire and performing traditional dances with such enthusiasm and pride. It was a testament to the efforts of our community in passing down our culture and traditions to the next generation. We hope that this festival has instilled a sense of pride and appreciation for our heritage in the younger generation.

The Pako Festa was not just a celebration of our culture, but it was also a celebration of community spirit. We were grateful for the support and participation of local businesses, community organisations, and volunteers who made this event possible. It was heartwarming to see everyone coming together to make this festival a success. We hope that this sense of community spirit will continue to grow and strengthen in the years to come.

As the coordinator of the cultural parade and stage performanance for the Greater Geelong Nepalese Community at Pako Festa, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to the festival's success. It was a team effort, and without each and every one of you, this festival would not have been possible. Thank you for your time, effort, and dedication in making this festival a wonderful showcase of our culture and traditions.

In conclusion, the Pako Festa 2024 was a wonderful celebration of our culture and traditions, and it was a great opportunity for us to share it with the wider community. It was a festival of diversity, community spirit, and pride in our heritage. We hope that this festival will continue to grow and evolve, and we look forward to seeing everyone again at the next Pako Festa. Thank you once again for making this event a memorable one.

We are excited to announce that Er. Ram Kumar Shrestha jee will be joining us at Pako Festa 2024, bringing with him his wealth of experience and expertise in community participation. However, we also acknowledge that not everyone may be able to attend the festival in person, which is why we are working on ways to make the event accessible for all members of the Nepalese community in Geelong, whether in person or virtually. We hope that this will foster a sense of inclusivity and unity within our community, as we come together to celebrate our rich culture and heritage.

In 2012, Er. Shrestha took on the role of Founding President for a Nepalese Association in Geelong, despite there being a small Nepalese population in the area at the time. The main purpose of this association was to promote Nepal through participation in the annual Pako Festa. Despite its official registration with Consumer Affairs Victoria on December 13, 2012 and affiliation with Diversitat on March 5, 2013, the association was only able to participate in the 2013 Pako Festa due to Er. Shrestha's perseverance and numerous meetings with Diversitat. As a result, the Nepalese community in Geelong should be grateful for Er. Shrestha's contributions.

The Pako Festa in 2023 was a lively and vibrant cultural festival that celebrated diversity and community spirit. It was a joyous occasion where people from different backgrounds came together to celebrate their common heritage. One of the highlights of the festival was the support and presence of Senior Community Leader and Global Social Activist Campaigner, Er. Ram Kumar Shrestha, who served as the Lumbini - Kapilvastu Global Campaign Global Coordinator and International Nepalese Artist Society (INAS) Global Advisor. His participation and support added to the unity and sense of togetherness at the festival. The GGNEC EC & Board Team were delighted and honored to have him with them at the Pako Festa, and it was a reminder of the power of community and collaboration

The GGNEC team has been working hard in preparation for an upcoming Nepali cultural Teej celebration for women in 2023.
The team has been researching traditional Nepali customs and rituals associated with the celebration, as well as exploring the best ways to host a successful event.
They have also been looking into potential venues and vendors for the celebration.
The team is also discussing ways to make the event inclusive and accessible for all members of the community. Everyone is excited to create an event that celebrates Nepali culture and brings the community together.
It's been a lot of work, but the team is determined to make this celebration an unforgettable experience.
