🎨 Regional galleries are at the heart of our local communities and new support is helping them deliver more art, ideas and opportunities!

A range of projects across WA including at Saltwater Gallery, Southern Forest Arts and ART ON THE MOVE will help support exhibition development, artist participation, professional development and future touring opportunities across the State.

The funding will also help galleries plan for the future, explore infrastructure improvements and strengthen networks that make it easier for regional communities to access high-quality visual arts experiences closer to home.

It's great news for regional communities, helping local galleries continue to be places where people can discover new ideas, celebrate local talent and connect through arts and culture.

A new strategy is helping shape the future of what a great night out looks like in WA ✨

From live music, restaurants and festivals to evening sport, arts, culture and community events, WA's first Night-Time Economy Strategy sets a shared direction for the experiences that bring our cities, towns and regions to life after dark.

The strategy outlines how government, industry and communities can work together to support safe, inclusive and vibrant night-time activity, while creating opportunities for local businesses, jobs, tourism and cultural experiences across the State.

Help bring regional WA's trail stories to the world 🌿🥾

The 2026 World Trails Conference is coming to Perth, and a new bursary program is helping ensure regional Western Australians have a seat at the table.

Supported by Lotterywest, the WA Regional & Rural Bursary Program offers financial assistance towards travel and accommodation costs for eligible regional trail professionals attending the conference.

If you help plan, manage, maintain or advocate for trails in regional WA, this is an opportunity to connect with trail leaders from around the world, share your local knowledge and bring new ideas back to your community.

A total of $12,500 is available to support up to 25 recipients, with applications assessed across three funding rounds.

Apply early and find out more via the link in the comments.

2025-26 Highlights: Creativity in classrooms across WA 🎨

More than 12,000 students across WA got the chance to learn, create and see the world a little differently through the Creative Learning Program in 2025-26.

The Creative Learning Program connects schools with artists and creative practitioners through artist residencies, school partnerships and hands-on projects. Students work directly with creative professionals while exploring new ways to express themselves, solve problems and think creatively.

In 2025-26, the program reached 97 schools across the State and connected 12,073 students, 798 teachers and 164 artists through a range of creative learning experiences.

2025-26 Highlights: More than 29,000 kids supported through KidSport⚽

The KidSport program helps children and young people participate in community sport by reducing the cost of club fees, uniforms and equipment.

In 2025-26, the program supported 29,642 eligible children across WA through 35,193 vouchers worth up to $300 each. The vouchers helped families access opportunities across 1,664 sporting clubs throughout the State.

The year also saw Scouts and Guides become eligible for KidSport, helping even more young people get involved, build confidence and be part of their community.

2025-26 Highlights: Improving local sporting facilities across WA ⚽

PlayOn WA: 2030 by 2030 aims to deliver 2,030 community sport and recreation infrastructure items by 2030. In 2025-26 alone, 432 projects were completed across WA, including new and upgraded playing surfaces, sports lighting, changerooms, pavilions and other community facilities.

They’re the kind of upgrades that make a real difference at places where local sport happens every week, from junior training sessions and weekend fixtures to community events and recreation programs.

🚨 One week left to apply! 🎨🌟

There’s still time to secure funding through the Arts Activities in Regional Communities program and bring arts and cultural experiences to communities across regional WA.

The Creative Projects category offers grants of up to $60,000 for activities such as community festivals, creative workshops and locally led arts projects. Regional local governments can also apply for up to $50,000 through the Creative and Cultural Planning category to develop or refresh creative and cultural plans.

These grants help create more opportunities for people in regional communities to participate in, access and experience arts and culture closer to home.

⏰ Applications close 1 October 2026.
