Busy start to the weekend, two calls to car fires with our neighbors from Shoalhaven Heads Rural Fire Brigade, as well as attending the Gerringong markets today

CAR FIRE - BEACH ROAD

Shortly after 1:30am this morning Shoalhaven Heads Pumper was responded to reports of a vehicle fire at the intersection of Beach Rd and Gerroa Rd, Berry.

firefighters arrived to a Mercedes van fully involved in fire which was extinguished with the assistance of Gerringong Rural Fire Brigade

Another early morning callout for our Gerringong crew, again responding South to assist our neighbours at Shoalhaven Heads. Great work by the Shoalhaven Heads Rural Fire Brigade crew who were first on scene and ensured there was no damage to any of the neighbouring properties.

We are delighted to bring back our mango fundraiser to support the Gerringong RFS in 2026.

The Mango Fundraiser only uses Bowen Special Mangoes (Kensington Pride Mangoes), packed in a single layer tray, each tray approximately 7kg. Mango trays are now only $29!

Mangoes are packed with Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Beta-Carotene, antioxidants, Potassium & B Vitamins. Low in fat & Cholesterol free.

Fruit comes directly from the farm to you, not held in storage or ripening rooms.

Mangoes are expected to arrive in the first 2 weeks of December. Pick up from Gerringong RFS (Blackwood Street, Gerringong). We will contact you with exact pick up windows closer to the date. Profits go directly to the Gerringong RFS.

Thanks to everyone who made it to our Get Ready Weekend open day today, for our amazing volunteers who made it happen and to Gerringong Probus who took charge of the barbeque for us. Visitors also got to see us head out for two call outs, the first to a car fire on Kiama bends and the second to assist ambulance near Jamberoo.

🔥 Gerringong RFS at Junior Jivers

On Monday, our volunteer crew had an amazing morning at Junior Jivers at the Gerringong Anglican Church.

The team joined in with dancing, story telling, and delivered a home fire safety presentation tailored for young children — helping them learn simple ways to stay safe at home.

The kids also had the chance to check out the fire truck, sit inside the cab, and even use the fire hose, which was definitely the highlight of the day!

We’re grateful for the warm welcome from the Junior Jivers community and love every opportunity to connect with local families and teach fire safety in a fun, hands‑on way.

Did you miss out on seeing us? Make sure to come along to our Open Day this Saturday from 10am to 2pm. There will be plenty of activities for the kids, a sausage sizzle and an opportunity to check out our fire trucks and station.
