Tirroan Rural Fire Brigade, is run by Volunteers, who devote their time and talents to protecting the district of Gin Gin in Queensland. Tirroan is responsible for approximately 250 sq Klm's of Rural Residential & Rural Productions Land (thats about 60,000 Acres) 40 members volunteers to serve their community during bush fires. They are also actively engaged in Educating the community on being self reliant and prepared for Bush fires and other local Disasters and events. we welcome any one who wants to Join Us! and appreciate any support we receive.

FIRE BAN IN PLACE

Hi Everyone, I hope you are all enjoying the little bit of rain we are having.
There still hasn't been anywhere near enough rain to remove the ban our Fire Warden has imposed for our area.

As soon as the rain stops it will go back to being very dangerous for fires to get out of control again. So please heed this warning and dont light a fire.

As of today,the 12th of October, I will not be issuing any Fire Permits until we have substantial rain.
Almost all of the fires that local brigades have attended recently are the result of land owners fires escaping.

From Bundaberg Area Office : FIRE PERMIT conditions EXTENDED !

The current restrictions to Permits to Light Fire across the Bundaberg Burnett District are scheduled to conclude at 2359hrs tonight, Friday 2nd October 2026. Accordingly, from 0001hrs Saturday 3rd October 2026, through to 2359hrs Friday 16th October 2026, minimum permit conditions will apply to all existing and newly issued permits across both LGAs, subject to ongoing review.

PLEASE NOTE !
NO PERMITS WILL BE ISSUED.

All Permits to Light Fire are suspended within the Bundaberg and North Burnett local government areas from
- 0001hrs Thursday 10 September 2026 to 2359hrs Wednesday 16 September 2026, inclusive.

-No new Permits to Light Fire are to be issued within these local government areas during the suspension period.
-Fire Wardens please take action to notify all current permit holders of Permit suspensions.
-No new fire is to be lit under current permits during this time.

It's getting very dry and ready to ignite, like it did at Settlement Rd today.
Please think before doing anything that may cause a spark, as our fire fighters are getting very tired already, and the fire season is just beginning.

Our fire warden is away for the next month, we have a Deputy warden on duty so if you have any questions please ring 0434 843 804.
FYI
Restrictions for permits
- at least a 4m bare earth break
- you need to have able persons looking after the fire at all times.

You may not get a permit as its heating up and further restrictions could be enforced.

Please also note that our crews have been working long hours for the last week with the Doughboy Rd fire, and could do with a well earned rest. Patrols are continuing around the perimeter of this fire 🔥.

Hi everyone, at the moment we have a problem with our phone number when you need a permit for a burn.

So if you ring 0418401494, you will get the Fire Warden.

This is only temporary and we will advise you when it changes.
