What a week!

The Glen Aplin, Ballandean and Mallow Brigade's would like to thank everyone who assisted in the Murphy's Gully Fire - as it was spread across our 3 Brigade Areas - just under 2,300 Hectares in size.

Huge thank you for all the assistance from Stanthorpe Group Area Brigades - many of whom had crews on rotation day and night almost all week. Warwick Group Area Brigades who traveled to assist, Urbans from Stanthorpe, Wallangarra, Warwick and Allora, Warwick RFSQ Staff. Drone Operators, Air Ops, Stanthorpe SES for Air Base Operations and keeping the planes flying, Mapping choppers for providing us with important information. To the com's operators in IC, and the IC's throughout the incident.

To all the support members behind the scenes making sure the trucks were refilled, restocked and rewatered between uses. To the family's of all the fire fighters involved - thank you for lending them to us while you're stuck home worrying and not knowing when they will be back or if they are ok.

The Liberty Service Station, Blue Pot Pantry, Foxey's Bakery and Ballandean Tavern for keeping all the troops well fed.

The heavy plant operators who put in Fire Breaks in some pretty tough country - especially Jared and Dave who were on site for days.
To local landholders who were affected and used their own equipment to manage the fire on their own place - you are legends in your own right and well prepared. This helps us immensely.

The community spirt, comradery and mateship that comes out on occasions like this are truly valuable.

The fire is within containment lines and crews still on site today and tonight. This will be continued to be monitored for the next week or two and smoke will still be in the area for some time. If you have any concerns please call 000.
