With storms currently moving through the area and more forecast over the coming days, it's important to remain vigilant for signs of fire once the storms have passed.

Lightning strikes can ignite fires, sometimes hours or even days after the storm has moved through. While there have been no reported fires at this stage, we ask members of the community to keep an eye out for any signs of smoke or fire.

If you see an unattended fire, report it immediately by calling Triple Zero (000).

Early reporting allows firefighters to respond quickly and helps minimise the risk of fires spreading.

πŸš’ A Heartfelt Thank You πŸš’

The support shown by crews from near and far has been incredible and is a reminder of the strength of our firefighting family.

To every person who has played a role, whether on the fireground, in incident management, logistics, catering, or behind the scenes, thank you. Your efforts are deeply appreciated by our communities and fellow firefighters.

πŸ‘ Please join us in thanking all those who have travelled from across the state to help our district.

DID YOU CAMP THIS LONG WEEKEND?

Before you pack up and leave your campsite, make sure your campfire is completely out and cold.

- Use plenty of WATER to put your fire out.
- Don’t just bury it, hot coals can stay hidden underground and potentially reignite.

Pour water over the fire, stir the ashes and coals, then add more water until everything is cool to the touch.

Before you leave, take that extra few minutes to make sure your fire is well and truly out.

Put it out. Soak it. Stir it. Check it.
