🛑🛑 A Federal MP has made a reignited push to open the border as international travel resumes.
Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan has again called for the Queensland border to be reopened earlier than December 17.
“From today you can fly overseas and do not need an exemption, you can travel freely between NSW, Victoria and the ACT,” Mr Hogan said.
“But we cannot drive into Queensland.
“Family and friends need to be reunited; it is also too hard to get to medical appointments.
“I will continue to lobby the Queensland Government to open the border."

: A man has been slapped with a $4000 fine, after crashing his way through the border checkpoint at when denied entry back into Queensland.

UPDATE: The Queensland Premier says a restricted border bubble will be introduced from 1am Monday
It’s for essential reasons including work (that cannot be done from home) and school.
Other essential reasons include:
- Essential shopping
- Care for a vulnerable person
- Healthcare
According to Queensland Health, essential workers crossing the border will need to have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
Tweed Heads and other NSW regions are set to come out of lockdown from 12:01am Saturday.
