We successfully conducted our inaugural Saturday morning food collection at Crosslife Church Helensvale. The event's ex*****on was smooth, and participants adapted well to the new arrangement. We extend our gratitude to Pastor Dale Lennon and the leadership team for approving our 12Baskets drive-in food collection initiative at this location. We apologize to clients who experienced inconvenience due to the adjusted collection time and longer travel distances. Notably, our team efficiently prepared 109 boxes in record time, demonstrating exceptional efficiency. We commend our dedicated volunteers for their outstanding performance.

Today's feeding initiative was successful despite encountering some rain-related challenges, yet fortunately, the outcome was still favourable. We extend our gratitude to the Lord. We appreciate everyone's contributions, including the delicious meals and shared items. The turnout remained satisfactory, and the most fulfilling aspect was receiving appreciation from the recipients for our efforts. All glory is to God. Joel and Ruth express their sincere appreciation to each of you, and we wish God's blessings.

Today marks our last food distribution at The Hangi Pit
Since October 2023, over the span of more than 2 1/2 years, we have given out around 148 tons of assorted foods to over 12,000 families in our community.
What started with just 35 families through our drive-thru food collection has grown into something far beyond what we could have imagined. Every Saturday morning, an average of 35 volunteers showed up with open hands, willing hearts, and a shared desire to serve.
Words are not enough to express our gratitude.
We have seen so many stories, miracles, answered prayers, acts of kindness, and moments of compassion that have continued to fuel us. We have seen the community come together in such a powerful way, and we truly believe this is a reflection of the provision and faithfulness of the Lord.
To every volunteer, partner, donor, supporter, and family who has been part of this journey — thank you. You have helped make a difference in the lives of many.
But don’t worry, this is not the end.
We are still on the lookout for another place where God will lead us. Please continue to pray with us as we search for the right location, so we can continue serving our community with love, compassion, and open hands.
This chapter at Hangi Pit may be closing, but the heart of 12 Baskets continues. 🤍💙
To God be all the glory.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all volunteers who commenced their duties at 6am/6.30am to collect donations from our Aldi stores this morning, subsequently loading our refrigerated trailer for the Church One food collection in Nerang, scheduled to commence at 12.30pm. Our second shift volunteers then assumed responsibility for setting up, unloading, and sorting the food, ultimately packing 63 boxes for our registered clients, who collected their assorted food boxes this afternoon prior to our church service, commencing at 2.30pm, which several of our clients attended.

Unfortunately, the Hangi Pit will soon be relocating, prompting 12 Baskets to honour Senior Staff members Izzy and Tania following our recent food collection, which yielded a record 144 boxes distributed to families in need. To commemorate this occasion, we organised a barbecue, where volunteers brought various dishes and pots of food to share, along with a cultural gift to express our appreciation to Izzy and Tania for allowing 12 Baskets to utilise the facility every Saturday morning since October 2023. During this period, we have distributed an impressive 148 tons of assorted food to our registered families. Regrettably, 12 Baskets is currently without a home until we secure an alternative facility, with our final Saturday at this location scheduled for the 23rd of May. Although we will miss this location, we remain optimistic that another opportunity will arise. Amen

Just a quick catch up on our Jacob’s Well outreach. We are still going strong down there, with our free bbq on the 3rd Sunday of the Month, breakfast at the waterfront on the 1st Wednesday of the month, and regular visits to the local house boating ‘live a board’ community.
God Willing at the end of the year we will have a bigger boat so we can reach further north and south to connect with others.
We also successfully helped one of our boaties (with the help of others) to be re-homed in Roma 🙂
Please feel free to come to any of our free meals.

Although it was raining, our very loyal volunteers still turned up to cook a barbecue and provide food for the homeless at the Nerang Skate Park earlier this afternoon. A huge thank you to everyone who turned up, both to assist and to share a meal together. Blessings to all.

Mother’s Day gifts were distributed at our Church One food collection, in addition to their food boxes, and we served 68 families in need who attended. We extend our gratitude to our dedicated and faithful volunteers who serve every Sunday afternoon. Pastor Amanda delivered an inspiring Mother's Day service, which was attended by four of our 12 Baskets clients, who had collected their food boxes earlier and also enjoyed the church service and the meal that followed. We praise God for their gradual integration into our church community.
