Buying second hand is so hot right now! Gone are the days when wearing secondhand clothes or purchasing used furniture was considered an activity just for struggling tertiary students or people who couldn't afford to buy new.

But op-shopping and online market places are not the only way to get your hands on pre-loved goods, and great initiatives like the Garage Sale Trail make a celebration of it!

This year's Garage Sale Trail is happening on 7-8 & 14-15 November and there are several Western Australian Local Governments getting involved including some of our local government partners - City of Armadale, City of Canning, City of Swan and the Town of Victoria Park.

Have you got a piece of clothing needing a mend? 🧵Ever thought about being a part of a record-beating event? 🏆Then, we have the perfect event for you, and you have three locations to choose from!

🪡 The Great Global Mend is Australia's biggest simultaneous repair event: many hundreds of people across the country, all mending something at the very same moment, in an attempt to break our 2025 record (298 menders) for the most people repairing textiles simultaneously.

You don't need any sewing experience, menders will be there to help you fix your item from scratch, whether that's sewing on a button, patching a hole with a FabPatch, or mending a hem. Bring a basic hand-sewing kit if you have one, or just bring yourself; we have everything covered.

There are three great events to choose from, all happening on Saturday, 7 November 📆

Our energy audit kits are free-to-loan from 130 libraries and Community Resource Centres throughout WA - providing all the tools you need to discover gaps in insulation, around door frames and other invisible-to-the-eye places.

Once found, you can take simple steps to fix the gaps, helping you improve the ambient temperature of your home whilst also helping you cut your electricity or gas bill.
