🔥 Welcome to the Official page of the Gresford Rural Fire Brigade! 🔥

Established in 1958, the Gresford Rural Fire Brigade has proudly served and protected the Gresford community and surrounding districts for more than 65 years. Our dedicated volunteers respond to bush fires, grass fires, structure fires, motor vehicle accidents, storm damage, and other emergencies, while also carrying out hazard reduction activities, community education, and fire prevention initiatives. Through generations of local members, the brigade has played an important role in helping keep our community safe and resilient. As a volunteer brigade, we rely on the support and commitment of local people. Whether you're interested in becoming an operational firefighter, assisting with community engagement, fundraising, administration, or supporting the brigade in other ways, there is a place for everyone. We meet on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm at the station, and we welcome anyone interested in learning more about what we do. ❌ Permits are suspended in the Cessnock, Dungog, Maitland and Port Stephens LGA’s

🟡 There’s a heightened fire risk. If a fire starts, it could be harder to control, so make sure you’re prepared.

🟡Decide what you will do before a fire starts

🟡 The safest option is to avoid bush fire risk areas.

Today we remember the emergency services volunteers who paid the ultimate sacrifice while protecting their communities, at the annual Emergency Services Volunteer Memorial Service.

The names of volunteers enshrined on the Memorial recognise personnel from NSW Rural Fire Service, NSW SES, Marine Rescue NSW and VRA Rescue NSW.

The event, held at Mrs Macquarie's Point at Sydney Botanical Gardens, will begin at 11am. A live stream of the service can be viewed on the website: www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/news-and-media/nsw-emergency-services-volunteers-memorial-2026
