🐱 KITTEN SEASON IS HERE! 🐾
We’ve been receiving an influx of kittens at the Pound recently, and while we know everyone gets excited about adopting a cute little kitten, there are a few important things we’d like everyone to keep in mind. 💕
🐾 Most of the kittens coming into the Pound are still very young. Many are only infants and won’t be ready for adoption until they are at least 8 weeks old and their impound periods are complete.
🐾 Our infant kittens are always prioritised for rescue wherever possible. Very young kittens require around-the-clock care, feeding and monitoring that we simply cannot provide at the Pound. Rescue organisations are better equipped to provide this specialised care while these little ones grow and develop. With a constant flow of cats and kittens coming into our care, transferring our infants to rescue gives them the best possible chance to thrive, while also creating space for us to help more cats and kittens in need. It really is the best outcome for everyone, especially our tiniest and most vulnerable babies. ❤️🐱

Once an appropriate cat or kitten comes into our care and is ready for adoption, we can contact you to discuss the next steps.
Please remember that joining our shortlist doesn’t guarantee a particular kitten, as availability can change quickly. However, it helps us understand what you’re looking for and allows us to contact suitable adopters when the right match becomes available.
