๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿš’ HANWOOD BRIGADE IS HEADING TO DUBBO! 11-13th September. ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ”ฅ

After bringing home a Third place trophy in Albury 24โ€, members of Hanwood โ€” Cappa, Berto, Joe, Bron and Kat โ€” will be heading to the great lights of Dubbo for the 2026
NSW RFS State Championships.

The team is looking forward to enhancing their skills, experiencing the State Training Academy, networking with other RFS members, viewing the amazing range of fire trucks and equipment and, most importantly, having some fun and friendly competition!

Opportunities like this are an important part of RFS training. They not only allow our members to practise and enhance their fireground skills by stepping outside of their comfort zones and put their training to the test, but most importantly bring these skills back to the brigade, enabling our crews to be better prepared for our community.

Itโ€™s also a fantastic opportunity to strengthen the teamwork and camaraderie within our brigade โ€” something that becomes incredibly important when weโ€™re working together on the fireground.

Weโ€™re excited to see what Team Hanwood can achieve!
Updates will be posted when possible. Alternatively follow all the live action via the event social page on Facebook

๐Ÿ”ฅ Working Together to Reduce the Risk! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Last night was another great example of local brigades working together, with members from Hanwood, Myall Park and Bilbul Brigades joining forces to assist a local landowner with a hazard reduction burn around a dam.

With the dam located close to the house, crews worked together to safely manage the burn and reduce the fuel around the property. ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ”ฅ

It was a great opportunity for members from the three brigades to work alongside each other, put their skills into practice and help a local landowner get better prepared for the upcoming fire season.

A big thank you to everyone who gave up their time to lend a hand โ€” three brigades, one team, helping keep our community safer! ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ’ช
