As of October 1, it is bush fire season. Have you prepared your home? A well- prepared home can be easier for you or fire fighters to defend. A cleared area around your home reduces your risk and means fire is less likely to spread. And don't forget those gutters - it only takes one ember!

On patrol today of the Hazard reduction completed yesterday.
Although all is well with burn, we advise not to walk in areas of recent burns due to the increased risk of falling trees.

The Hazard Reduction of horse paddock was successful today. Achieved this burn before the rain came. Thanks to all those that helped out today especially those who have taken off work to help protect the community.
As with any burn, there may still be smoke and it will be patrolled, however anything that is alarming please ring 000

Hazard Reduction – Horse Paddock HR, Bowen Mountain

On behalf of the Hawkesbury Bush Fire Management Committee, the community is advised that the NSW RFS are intending to undertake the Horse Paddock HR (Bowen Mountain), weather and conditions permitting.

📅 Date: Friday, 2 October 2026
📍 Location: Vicinity of Lieutenant Bowen Dr & Bowen Mountain West Trl
📏 Size: 2ha
🚒 Lead Agency: NSW Rural Fire Service

Smoke will be visible from surrounding areas following ignition on Friday morning and potentially into afternoon. Residents with respiratory conditions are encouraged to take appropriate precautions, and motorists should drive to conditions if smoke affects visibility on nearby roads.
