🔵🟢Our thoughts are with the McDougall family, an Ex-Gymea Bay Public School family who have tragically lost their home recently in a devastating house fire. In this incredibly difficult time, they need our support. A GoFundMe page has been set up from a close family friend to help them rebuild and recover. If you are able to donate or even share the page to help spread the word, it would be very much appreciated 🟢🔵

On the night of Saturday 10 October, our friends Dougall and … Claire Woods needs your support for Help Dougall, Rachel, Lucy and Gus get back on their feet

💎 Our teachers are absolute gems! 💎

In the lead-up to World Teachers’ Day on Friday 30 October, let’s celebrate the wonderful teachers at Gymea Bay Public School. 💙

We invite our School Community to add a gem to NESA’s Teaching Gems Map in honour of a teacher who has made a difference. Whether past or present, it’s a lovely way to say thank you for their care, dedication and the inspiration they bring to learning every day.

📍 Pin a gem and leave a special message:

Let’s show our teachers how much they mean to our school community. ✨

💙 Gymea Bay Public School World’s Greatest Shave! 💙

Yesterday afternoon, we had the absolute privilege of watching our amazing students cut and shave their hair in support of the World’s Greatest Shave.

It is incredibly rare to see results like this from a primary school, and our whole school community should be so proud of what we have pulled together to support such an incredible cause. The generosity, courage and enthusiasm shown by our students has been truly amazing! 👏🏻

A huge thank you to our School SRC for helping organise this incredible event, and to Luke O for his heartwarming ideas that helped inspire it all. 💙

A HUGE shout out to our incredible hairdressers and barbers for donating their time:

💈The Barber Project
💇‍♀️ De Frenza Salon Gymea
✂️ Nicki Knapton
💈 Mrs Tenney and Mrs McLachlan

And to give you a sense of what our incredible $27,888 could actually do:

🏠 Give a regional family a home away from home for 9 months while they receive treatment in a major city.

🛒 Help 75 families struggling with everyday costs such as bills, groceries and transport.

🧬 Fund multi-gene testing for 22 children, helping personalise their treatment and giving them the best chance of survival.

That’s what our school community has done. 👏🏻💙

What an incredible achievement by our students, families and staff. We should all be incredibly proud! 🔵🟢☺️
