GOLD RUSH IS COMING TO GYMPIE! ⛏️🤠 It's going to be huge!
We are thrilled to announce that Monkland State School will be participating in the 2026 Gympie Gold Rush Parade! 🎉
For the first time since 2017, our students will be marching together in the procession, stepping back in time and dressing as characters from Gympie’s fascinating gold rush era. 🥇👒
📅 Saturday 17 October 2026
⏰ Form up at 2.30pm in or near the Town Hall carpark.
Dispersal will be at Memorial Park, just like Anzac Day
So, mark your calendars and start planning those costumes! Think miners, pioneers, shopkeepers, children of the goldfields and other characters from Gympie’s golden past. 👨‍🌾⛏️👗
Students might even like to bring or help create gold rush artefacts to carry in the parade—wheelbarrows, carts, gold nuggets, miners lanterns and other treasures from the era! 🛒💰✨
We would LOVE to see as many Monkland students as possible marching proudly together. Let’s make our return to the Gold Rush Parade a spectacular one!
🌟 Get your costumes ready… Monkland is striking gold again!
Please invite all your friends and family to come and enjoy the parade, and the FREE concert and fireworks following the parade in Nelson Reserve from 5.30.
