Good morning families,
Welcome back to school!

I have attached the term 2 calendar with important dates for term 2. A hard copy was sent home with your children yesterday. I will put a screenshot in the comments as well.

Unfortunately there will be a delay in the roll out of Frog this term. Once we have an update this will be communicated. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

For now please continue using seesaw.
Audiri is no longer used as a form of communication.

Celebrating 50 Years of Hallett Cove South Primary School

This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the opening of Hallett Cove South Primary School in 1976. We are hoping to organise an exciting event to celebrate this occasion. However we can't do this alone! We are hoping for past students, parents and general community to help brainstorm some great ideas for the upcoming celebration being held in November.

If you would be interested in assisting with the planning for our wonderful celebration please contact the school on 83814080 or email [email protected]

Thank you for your time and we hope to see you soon!

Our Hallett Cove South Primary School community is buzzing with excitement in the lead up to tomorrow’s sports day.

We wish everyone well & look forward to our teams facing off in a spirit of fairness, encouragement & good sportsmanship.

Who will take out the parent sprints, parent/teacher/student tug of war & the parent/student vortex throw?

Which team will win this year? Will it be Amaroo, proudly led by Will & Ruby? Could it possibly be Karrara, with Jay & Maddie leading the way? Or could Waringa come away with the points under the leadership of Captains Indra & Bella?

Green, Yellow, Blue - who knows?

All I know, is that it is going to be a great day.

I hope you have put in your sausage sizzle orders - you’re going to need all the energy you can get.

If you’re lucky, you may even score a sugary treat with the Easter Egg raffle being drawn during our presentation ceremony.

Don’t forget to be sun safe & have a great day. We look forward to seeing everyone here, decked out in team colours. Just remember, our school has a student free day on Thursday - a chance to recover from tomorrow’s festivities.

Did someone say chocolate? It’s that time of year again.

Our Easter raffle is live, with THIS AMAZING EGG up for grabs!

Tickets are $1 each & can be purchased via your Hallett Cove South Primary peeps or at our school reception.

This epically huge egg is big enough for the whole family to get their choccy fix.

We’d like to thank Harcourts Plus, Hallett Cove for donating this amazing prize.

The winner will be drawn the last school day before the Easter Long Weekend - so hop in quick.

Today, our Garden Club was extra busy, weeding, clearing & digging holes during Recess & planting, staking & watering during Lunch.

The downstairs shaded area is looking refreshed with a variety of flowering Australian native plants. In addition to shade & shelter, these plants should bring an amazing splash of colour to our playground area for many years to come.

The Garden Club will continue to look after our new plants by watering them & mulching them in future weeks.

Special mentions go out to Max, Theo, Hope, Shiloh, Liam, Charlotte, Cole, Knoxx, Ivan, Minh, Riley, William, Liam, Airlie & Simon.

I apologise if I’ve missed anyone. I really did have a Gardening Club army working with me today - so awesome! Love this school!!

At assembly today, Simon shared some of the amazing & somewhat hilarious names our students entered into the “Name Our Cow” contest. I have to admit that ‘Donald Rump’ did make me laugh.

The name needed to, not necessarily be a human name, but rather, be a name that is significant to the land on which our school is placed, Hallett Cove.

Simon managed to narrow the cow’s name down to three entries, with the final winning entry being drawn from a cow hat - very fitting.

Special mentions go out to Liam & Ella, whose cow names were also placed into the hat.

The winning entry was ‘Porosa’, a name entered as it is the name of a Eucalyptus which is a native tree, common vegetation in the Hallett Cove Conservation Park.

Congratulations to Mitchell from the R2 class for winning the competition. Enjoy the plush cow toy prize for winning.

Porosa is currently being painted by Simon & students, & upon completion, will be relocated to our office reception area as a colourful welcome to all. I hear Porosa loves to celebrate & that she may have a wardrobe prepared for future special occasions.

Watch this space for Porosa updates!
