Volunteer Week has come and gone, but we couldn't let it pass by without celebrating our incredible community that helps Hamersley Scout Group stay as vibrant and active as it is today.
And, as though the excitement of ordered food, a campfire and garden games wasn't enough for our gathered audience of community members, parents and scouts, our special guest Jessica Stojkovski MLA was there to help with a big reveal of how we spent our generous grant money - lightweight hiking tents and 6 new expedition canoes!
We also had the pleasure of presenting Peak Awards to 3 worthy Scouts who planned and completed a number of ambitious feats to earn one of Scouts' highest honours.
An amazing night, and a privilege to be celebrating with our scouting community. B-R-A-V-O-!

Our volunteers are the lifeblood of Scouts Australia.
Our programs would not be possible without the dedication, passion and generosity of volunteers who give their time to support young people across the country.
If you would like to help shape the next generation of young Australians, there is a place for you in Scouting.
Whether it’s leading activities, helping at camps, supporting behind the scenes, or assisting your local Scout Group - there’s a role for everyone to make a real difference in their community.

🌟 Hamersley Scouts at One Camp 2026 🌟
What an incredible experience for our youth attending Scouts WA One Camp 2026!
Over the course of the camp, our Joeys, Cubs, Scouts and Venturers threw themselves into every opportunity – from adventurous activities and new challenges to making friendships with Scouts from all across Australia.
They showed fantastic teamwork, resilience and Scout spirit, representing Hamersley with pride. Whether it was trying something new, stepping outside their comfort zones, or simply enjoying the camp atmosphere, every one of them made the most of this amazing experience.
A big thank you to our leaders and volunteers who helped make this possible, and to our families for their ongoing support.
We’re so proud of everything our youth achieved – and we can’t wait to see how they bring their new skills and memories back to the group!
💚💛

Hamersley Scout Group are proud today to have commemorated this special occasion by taking part in the ANZAC Day dawn service at Osborne Park RSL. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to remember those who have served our Country and for their sacrifice so that we can enjoy our freedoms.
Well done to all our youth members and leaders who represented Hamersley Scout Group and Karrinyup Scout Group by taking part in the pre-service parade and for assisting in wreath laying during the service.
The Scout Group gunfire breakfast was very welcome after the service and ensured the early risers were well fed. This accompanied an ANZAC themed community craft. It also reminded us of the importance to take time to reflect how fortunate we are.
Honoring the past, looking ahead.
Lest We Forget 🌺

Congratulations to the HSG Scouts and Venturers (and Adult helpers) who completed Tasmania's iconic Overland Track earlier this year.
From rugged alpine climbs to lowland rainforest trails, our scouts embraced every challenge over their 70+ kilometre trek, including side trips to Cradle Mountain summit and Mount Ossa.
After a year of preparation, the planning paid off with a smooth and successful week-long expedition.
This amazing journey was proudly supported by Scouts WA and was made possible by funding received from the Dick and Pip Smith Leadership Through Adventure Fund and of course the hard work and generosity of our Hamersley Scout families and community.
Well done to all involved - adventure truly achieved and many a tale to tell. We look forward to their next epic Scouting adventure!
