2027 Foundation Transition – 2nd Session
Our next three Foundation Transition sessions will take place in classrooms. These sessions give our enrolled 2027 Foundation students the opportunity to experience the learning environment, get used to classroom routines, and build confidence before starting school.
At the same time, we will be running a series of Parent Information Sessions. These sessions are designed to provide families with insights into what Foundation looks like at HPPS, what your child will experience as they begin school, and to give you the chance to ask any questions.
We look forward to welcoming both students and families as we work together to set our 2027 Foundation students up for success.

ELF-tastic! Learning, Growing and Fun!
Last term, our wonderful ELF (English Language Foundation) students had a busy and fun-filled term of learning, creating and growing!
We became fairy bread experts, while learning how to write a procedure report.
It was so much fun getting our hands dirty, when starting our Farm to Plate Garden!
We planted zucchini, snow peas, beans, lettuce and cherry tomatoes. We can’t wait to watch our little garden grow, so we can pick the veggies and make something yummy to eat.
Our senior ELF students also got creative and painted some very special coffee mugs for their dads for Father’s Day.
From fairy bread to veggie gardens and colourful creations, it was a fantastic term full of smiles, new skills, heaps of learning and lots of fun!

Year 4 Reptile Encounter Incursion

As part of our learning about plant and animal life cycles, our Year 4 students welcomed Reptile Encounters to our school for an exciting, hands-on incursion!

Students met some fascinating animals, including Cheryl the Spiny Leaf Insect, Freddo the Green Tree Frog, Socks the Sugar Glider, Pickle the Olive Python and Pretzel the Saltwater crocodile!

Seeing these amazing creatures up close gave students a wonderful opportunity to connect their classroom learning with the natural world, and deepen their understanding of how different animals grow, change and survive in their environments. It was a great hands-on learning experience filled with curiosity, questions and exciting discoveries!

A big thank you to Reptile Encounters for sharing these incredible animals with us and making our learning come to life!

Snapshots from the Classroom

Our Foundation C mathematicians have been honing their additive thinking skills. We have been reviewing how addition means combining collections to make a bigger group and how to write and say this as a number story. We practised using addition by creating visual stories on our whiteboards and writing a number sentence to match.

Snapshots from the Classroom

As part of our procedure writing unit, 1B made fairy bread and discussed the materials, equipment and steps involved. Students then enjoyed their fairy bread! This experience helped students write and publish a procedure on how to make fairy bread.
