This week we’re celebrating National Water Week!

Today we visited Jeparit Primary School to congratulate Collette, on winning the National Water Week Poster competition in the Prep/Foundation category! 🏆

Collette’s fantastic artwork also took out third place at the state level, and her win earned $400 for her school, along with a prize pack for Collette and a spot on the 2027 GWMWater calendar. 👏

We’ve been visiting winning schools and kindergartens across the region throughout National Water Week, celebrating some of the talented young artists behind the 642 entries we received this year.

A huge congratulations to all our winners and everyone who got involved!

How can GWMWater keep water and wastewater services affordable in the years ahead?

GWMWater is now calling for expressions of interest from customers and community members to join our new panel.

This panel will play a key role in developing GWMWater's 2028-2033 Price Submission, providing direct input into the projects and services that matter most to local communities.

GROUNDWATER NOW AVAILABLE IN MURRAYVILLE | A limited volume of groundwater is now available for licensing in the Murrayville Groundwater Management Area through an Expression of Interest (EOI) process.

💧 There is currently 545 ML available, subject to groundwater availability, zone limits and approval requirements.

EOIs close 2 pm Monday 14 December 2026.

Water is flowing, and so are the benefits!

The 579km pipeline network is now delivering reliable water to 511 properties, improving water security, drought resilience and emergency preparedness across the region.

⚠️ 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗛𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗺 𝘀𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀

Very high rainfall in Horsham over the past 48 hours has placed significant strain on GWMWater's sewer network.

Our crews are working to reduce the risk of sewer spills and respond to issues across the network.

Residents can help by using sewer services as normal while avoiding excessive water use where possible over the coming days. Activities that generate large volumes of wastewater can add further pressure to the system.

GWMWater also reminds residents that rainwater from roofs, yards and surface runoff must not be connected to sewer pipes, as this can increase the risk of overflows during heavy rainfall.

JOIN OUR PANEL | We are seeking an Independent Chairperson to lead our Community Panel and help guide important conversations about future water and wastewater services, investment priorities and pricing proposals.

The panel's feedback will play a key role in shaping our 2028-2033 Price Submission.

We're looking for someone with strong leadership and facilitation skills who can encourage open, balanced and productive discussions across our diverse communities.

This is a paid position, running from November 2026 to June 2027.
