Yesterday the Humpty Doo Volunteer Fire Brigade, along with Koolpinyah Volunteer Fire Brigade, Howard Springs Volunteer Fire Brigade Virginia Bees Creek Volunteer Fire Brigade and members from Bushfires NT, attended the Community Bank Coolalinga & Districts 20th Birthday celebrations at the Humpty Doo Golf Club.

Thanks to our members Chris, Graeme P, Ben, Dean and Nathan for representing us on the day.

We were extremely fortunate, and very grateful, to receive a $5,000 donation from our supporters at the bank. Thank you for your continued support of our efforts within the community.

Our volunteer brigades not only serve our community on the fireground, but we do our own fundraising to bring events, like our Annual Santa Run, to our community members. Juggling our core taskings with our fundraising efforts can be difficult, particularly during the fire season. This donation will go a long way to helping us provide our community engagement events.

While volunteer and career firefighters across the Top End are working hard tonight to keep us all safe, we are rolling into another Total Fire Ban tomorrow, Saturday 19th September.

Captain Brad is Begging You!

Total Fire Ban this weekend means NO bonfires, NO fireworks, NO open bbq's, and please NO welding, NO grinders and NO slashing.

In this weather something as simple as a hot muffler from your trail bike or a flint spark from your mower will start a fire.

Please, please, please make it a safe weekend for our volunteers and your properties.

If you see a fire please call 000 immediately.

Sometimes our role as volunteer firefighters takes unexpected, but satisfying, turns.
Friday night saw our on-call Humpty Doo volunteer members working at Spencely Rd with a career crew from Palmerston, extinguishing a fire which threatened the industrial area.
Our vigilant crew saw and rescued a tiny baby joey that had been caught up in the chaos. Captain Brad rang Wildcare and the crew stayed on site until the joey could be collected.
This little fellow is now in very good hands and is expected to make a full recovery.
