๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’›โค๏ธ Reconciliation Week ๐ŸŒฟ

This week, children and young people participated in Reconciliation Week, engaging in meaningful experiences that encouraged respect, inclusion and a deeper understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories. The week provided opportunities for children to come together, reflect and learn about the importance of reconciliation within our community.

Throughout the week, they participated in a colouring-in competition, contributed to a collaborative community installation activity titled โ€œAll Inโ€ using bubbles for a display, and engaged in traditional Aboriginal group games in the gym. These experiences encouraged teamwork, communication and cooperation while promoting conversations around belonging, connection and respect for culture and community.

Children and young people demonstrated creativity, collaboration and curiosity as they explored these experiences together and contributed to a shared display that reflected inclusion and unity. It was wonderful to see children actively participating, supporting one another and engaging in meaningful learning throughout the week. ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’›โค๏ธ

๐ŸŽฌ Cartoon Week โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ“บ Week 4

This week, children participated in a fun and creative Cartoon Week, a child-suggested theme inspired by childrenโ€™s interests and ideas shared during program planning discussions. The week encouraged imagination, creativity and self-expression as children explored animation, storytelling and character design through a variety of hands-on experiences.

Throughout the week, children engaged in activities including creating DIY cartoon characters, designing comic strips, making movie posters, creating flip book animations, character collages and participating in movie making experiences. These activities supported children to experiment with storytelling, visual arts and creative technologies while developing confidence in sharing their ideas and creations with others.

Children collaborated with peers, explored different artistic techniques and demonstrated persistence as they planned, designed and created their projects. It was wonderful to see the creativity, enthusiasm and teamwork displayed throughout the week as children immersed themselves in the world of cartoons and animation while seeing their ideas reflected within the program. ๐ŸŽฅโœจ

Families Week ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ’› Week 3

This week, children and young people celebrated Families Week in honour of the International Day of Families, recognising and appreciating the unique people, relationships and connections that make every family special. Throughout the week, children engaged in a variety of creative and interactive experiences that encouraged reflection, imagination and a strong sense of belonging.

Children participated in activities including creating family trees, โ€œMy Place in My Familyโ€ puzzles, family photo frames, wall hanging art and family portrait posters, providing opportunities to express their identities and share stories about the important people in their lives. Children also engaged in imaginative family role play, a home-themed obstacle course and family charades, encouraging creativity, communication and cooperation as they explored different family roles and experiences through play-based learning.

It was wonderful to see children proudly sharing their family experiences, building connections with peers and celebrating the diversity and importance of families within our community. ๐Ÿงก

๐Ÿ’ Motherโ€™s Day ๐Ÿ’– Week 2

This week, children celebrated Motherโ€™s Day by recognising and appreciating the important women in their lives. Throughout the week, children engaged in a variety of creative experiences, including making cards, paintings and thoughtful gifts for their mums and significant women.

These activities encouraged children to express their creativity, reflect on relationships and show appreciation through meaningful, personalised creations. Children took pride in their work, carefully designing and creating special items to share with their loved ones.

Children also participated in Motherโ€™s Day themed Minute to Win It challenges, inspired by everyday tasks that mums often complete. These fun and engaging activities encouraged teamwork, problem-solving and a sense of humour, while helping children build an understanding and appreciation of daily responsibilities.

It was wonderful to see the care, thoughtfulness and enthusiasm shown by children as they celebrated and acknowledged the important people in their lives. ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’–

๐ŸŒŸ It Takes a Village ๐Ÿซฑ๐Ÿผโ€๐Ÿซฒ๐Ÿฟ Week 1

This week, children participated in โ€œIt Takes a Village Weekโ€, focusing on our school values of respect, honesty and persistence. These experiences aligned with whole-school learning, supporting children to build a shared understanding of the values that guide our community.

Throughout the week, children engaged in a variety of activities that explored what these values look like in everyday situations. They participated in discussions, collaborative tasks and reflective experiences that encouraged them to think about how they can demonstrate respect, honesty and persistence in their interactions with others.

Children also worked together to create a new values display, contributing ideas and creative elements to represent each value. This provided a sense of ownership and pride, while strengthening their connection to the school community.

It was wonderful to see children actively engaging with the values, supporting one another and working together to create a positive and inclusive environment. ๐ŸŒŸ

๐Ÿ“ Caring for Our Chickens ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿฅš

Throughout the holiday period, children have taken on the important responsibility of caring for our school chickens. This daily routine has included feeding the chickens, refreshing their water, cleaning their environment and collecting eggs.

Children demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility and care as they worked together to ensure the chickens were looked after. These experiences provided valuable opportunities for children to develop an understanding of animal care, sustainability and where food comes from.

Engaging in this hands-on responsibility encouraged teamwork, cooperation and independence, as children took pride in contributing to the wellbeing of the chickens. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and commitment as they connected with the natural environment and participated in meaningful, real-life tasks. ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅš

๐ŸŽ‰ End of Holidays Party Day ๐ŸŽˆ

Today, we celebrated the end of a fun-filled Vacation Care program with our Party Day, bringing children together to reflect, celebrate and enjoy the final day of holidays. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as children participated in a variety of party games and shared experiences with their peers.

In the lead-up to the day, children were actively involved in creating a Photo Booth and props, which were proudly used during the celebration. This provided a wonderful opportunity for children to showcase their creativity, take ownership of their contributions and enjoy the results of their efforts with friends.

Throughout the day, children demonstrated positive social interactions, teamwork and a strong sense of belonging as they engaged in games, took photos and celebrated together. It was wonderful to see the joy, laughter and connections built as children reflected on the holiday program and created lasting memories.

๐ŸŽฎ Games 2 U Incursion ๐ŸŽ๏ธ 23/04

Today, children participated in an exciting incursion with Games 2 U, bringing a unique and interactive gaming experience to our service. Children had the opportunity to engage with a gaming theatre, car racing simulators and a giant hamster ball, creating a fun and high-energy atmosphere.

Throughout the session, children explored a range of activities that supported coordination, reaction time and problem-solving skills. The racing simulators encouraged focus and precision, while the gaming theatre provided opportunities for shared play and collaboration. The giant hamster ball added a physical element, promoting balance, movement and confidence.

This experience encouraged children to work together, communicate with peers and demonstrate positive sportsmanship as they took turns and supported one another. It was wonderful to see the excitement, engagement and teamwork displayed as children enjoyed this immersive and dynamic experience.

๐ŸŒˆ Colour Run Fun ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ 22/04

Today we held our very first Colour Run, providing children with a fun, high-energy experience filled with movement, laughter and excitement. Children participated in the run while being covered in bursts of colour, creating a vibrant and memorable atmosphere for everyone involved.

Throughout the event, children demonstrated enthusiasm, confidence and resilience as they ran, walked and navigated the course at their own pace. The experience encouraged active participation and supported physical development, including coordination, endurance and overall wellbeing.

The Colour Run also promoted a strong sense of community, with children encouraging one another, celebrating achievements and enjoying the experience together. It was wonderful to see the joy, teamwork and positive spirit displayed by all children as they took part in this exciting event.

We look forward to making this a regular and much-loved tradition at our service! ๐ŸŒˆโœจ
