Our mission to Nepal ended during the week. It has unfortunately seen the tightest controls on media releases we have seen to date.
We respect that there are reasons we are unaware of for these controls.
We have found a few already published stories to share with our audience.
This week the NSW Parliament made mention of the mission in a very thoughtful and touching moment in the States Parliament House.
Below is the link for anyone wishing to read the transcript.

Thankyou to the Team of Firefighters, the Paramedic and Engineer that made up our Team.
You make us proud every time you put on the uniform.

The Parliament of New South Wales stands on the traditional lands of the Gadigal people. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present. We proudly acknowledge all the Aboriginal peoples of New South Wales and honour their enduring connection to the lands, waters and sky of the State.

The Australian Embassy, Nepal has once again provided us with an insight into the team’s experiences whilst deployed.

This morning Superintendent Tim Hassiotis was interviewed by a SBS Nepali podcast.
It gives some insight into the teams missions and challenges.
It does go for approx 20 minutes.
They are doing us proud.

In the absence of approved material to post of the Teams mission in Nepal, the Australian Embassy Nepal, has given us great insight into the efforts and operations of our personnel.

A Special Happy Father’s Day to our deployed Dads. Yes even those that joined us from Queensland Fire Department and the team mate joining us in another capacity.
Stay safe, look after each other and make us even more proud than we already are.

It is a beautiful sight to see members of our AUS02 family finally make it to Nepal. Ever since this tragic event unfolded we have worked closely with our partner authorities to find a way to help.
The home team wishes those deploying a successful and safe trip.
This clip shows the team is now in country.

On Wednesday the 1st of April our Logistics Team spent the day, not trying to fool anybody, rehearsing our cache deployment in our annual Load Exercise.
In attendance were members from 3 different sections of our Defence Force, Civil Aviation Safety Authority, QANTAS, Tetra Tech, Queensland Fire Department (AUS01),NSW Police, Ambulance NSW, FRNSW Water Rescue, FRNSW Aviation, FRNSW Natural Disaster and Humanitarian team, FRNSW Fleet Operations as well as Station Based AUS02 logistics personnel.
Key outcomes from the exercise were maintaining a high standard of cache deployability in both the physical packing and importantly the documentation that goes with it. We spent time looking at incorporating extra machinery into the cache and how that may fit into the designated aircraft platforms available to the team. Critical discussions also took place focusing on Dangerous Goods compliance for our cargo and ensuring that we comply with the regulatory authorities and gain the relevant exceptions where needed and compliance to those conditions.
The opportunity to have all of our key stakeholders in one location to witness and then discuss our cache deployment process made the day a huge success before the first conversation took place. The fact that positive discussions followed leaves us as AUS02 more than ready to deploy wherever we are needed.
