DID YOU CAMP THIS LONG WEEKEND?

Before you pack up and leave your campsite, make sure your campfire is completely out and cold.

- Use plenty of WATER to put your fire out.
- Don’t just bury it, hot coals can stay hidden underground and potentially reignite.

Pour water over the fire, stir the ashes and coals, then add more water until everything is cool to the touch.

Before you leave, take that extra few minutes to make sure your fire is well and truly out.

Put it out. Soak it. Stir it. Check it.

🔥R***e Range Fire update🔥

Today, Inverell crews continued to work hard to strengthen containment lines with assistance from heavy plant and aircraft.

Over the last five days our local crews have been out non stop fighting the R***e Range Fire. To say we are proud of them is an understatement, we are incredibly lucky to have such a dedicated team protecting our community.

Our neighbouring brigades have also worked equally as hard and we are very grateful for the assistance Elsmore Rural Fire Brigade, Stannifer and Gilgai Rural Fire Brigades.

Our crew are exhausted and will enjoy some hard earned rest as crews from other areas come to assit us.

A huge thank you to our amazing community for all your support over the last few days 🧡
