✨ This Week’s GEM Chat: Mindfulness ✨

As we settle back into school routines, it’s a good time to pause for a moment and check in with ourselves.

Mindfulness is about slowing down, noticing what’s happening around us, and recognising how we’re feeling in the present moment. Sometimes we feel excited or happy, other times we might feel tired, nervous, overwhelmed or a mix of different emotions - and that’s okay!

Taking a moment to notice how we feel can help us better understand what we might need and how to look after ourselves throughout the day.

πŸ“… What's happening at JHS this week?

After a fantastic start to Term 4, we have a quieter week ahead across the school.

HSC exams are still underway - well done to our Year 12 students for their perseverance and dedication so far. Good luck with your remaining exams!

It's a great week for all students to get stuck into their learning, stay focused, and make the most of their time in the classroom.

We hope everyone has a great week!

🎢🌟 An Incredible Achievement for Will Chisholm!🌟🎢

Junee High School is incredibly proud to share that Will has been nominated for ENCORE, the HSC Showcase celebrating outstanding major works from HSC Music students across NSW.

Taking place at the Sydney Opera House on Monday 22 February 2027, ENCORE brings together some of the state’s most talented young musicians to showcase their performances, compositions and musicology projects.

This is a fantastic achievement for Will and a well-deserved recognition of his musical talent. Amazing, but certainly not surprising, for a student who has continued to impress us with his performances! πŸ₯

The final selection process will take place over the coming weeks, and we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that Will gets the opportunity to perform on one of Australia’s most iconic stages next year. 🀞

Congratulations Will!

Today the incoming Yr12 Hospitality students put their creative sides to good use. The challenge was to present a breakfast dish of poached egg on sour dough with avocado. There was a variety of other ingredients available to finish the dish.

They also made some pork and fennel sausages using their homemade puff pastry.

Delicious.
