๐Ÿ”ฅ EXTREME FIRE DANGER & TOTAL FIRE BAN ๐Ÿ”ฅ

MONDAY 12th OCTOBER 2026

An Extreme Fire Danger Rating has been declared for the Greater Sydney Region, which includes the Central Coast, for tomorrow, Monday 12th October.

A Total Fire Ban will also be in place across the region. All permits are suspended.

Under Extreme conditions, fires can spread rapidly and become difficult to control.

Residents are urged to avoid activities that could start a fire, review their bushfire survival plans and remain alert to changing conditions.

A Total Fire Ban will be in place tomorrow, Monday 12 October 2026, for the Greater Sydney area with forecast Extreme fire danger and the Greater Hunter area with forecast High fire danger. Warm and windy conditions are forecast across parts of the state, increasing the fire danger.

Take action now. Know your fire risk and what you will do if fire threatens. Report all unattended fires to Triple Zero (000).

The NSW RFS AIDER (Assist Infirm, Disabled and Elderly Residents) program can help with things like cleaning gutters and clearing vegetation, assessing a property's fire risk, and developing a bushfire survival plan.
