Whether it’s an upcoming event, tryouts, an open day, market day or something special your club, group or business has coming up, flick it through and we’ll help spread the word.

It’s a great chance to get a bit of airtime and make some noise for what’s happening locally.

🚸 SLOW DOWN – OUR LITTLE RESIDENTS ARE COUNTING ON YOU!

School and Kindy zones are busy places, especially during drop-off and pick-up times. A little extra care behind the wheel can make a big difference in keeping our kids safe.

Please remember to stick to the signed speed limits during school times and stay alert as you travel through school zones.

Children can be unpredictable. They may step onto the road suddenly, become distracted or simply not be aware of their surroundings. What might seem like a quick trip can have life-changing consequences if you’re speeding and not paying attention.

🚗 Slow down and obey the speed limits.
👀 Keep an eye out for little feet near roads and crossings.
Stay alert, be patient and give children the time and space they need to get where they’re going safely.

We all have a role to play in keeping our community safe. Let's look out for our littlest residents and make sure every School and Kindy day starts and finishes safely.

Equal Worth. Equal Care. Every Community.

Where you live shouldn’t determine the care you receive.

Rural life is something special. It’s connection, resilience, opportunity and a sense of belonging that runs deep.
But loving rural life shouldn’t mean compromising on access to quality healthcare.

Mayor Dean Johnson was invited to speak at a Parliamentary Friends of Rural and Regional Health event in Canberra on Monday, 12 October 2026, sharing the challenges faced by communities like ours and highlighting the importance of equitable access to healthcare for all Australians.

The speech also reflects the ongoing advocacy of the National Rural Health Alliance and the findings of Nous Group’s Forgotten Health Spend report, which draws attention to the health funding inequities experienced by people living in rural and regional Australia.

These conversations matter. They help shine a light on the gaps in our health system and reinforce the need for fairer investment in services that support people, no matter where they call home.

Read Mayor Johnson’s speech, delivered in person at the event, in the attached document.

Rural communities are more than dots on a map. They are places where people live, work, raise families and build their futures.

Our communities matter, our people matter, and access to quality healthcare should never be determined by a postcode.

Drought Economic Impact Survey - Regional Businesses and Communities

Who is this survey for?
This survey is for regional businesses, service providers, community organisations, local government and residents. It focuses on the flow-on impacts of drought on regional businesses, employment, spending, services and communities.

This survey forms part of a broader joint project by Grain Producers SA and Livestock SA to understand the economic impacts of the successive drought seasons experienced across South Australia during 2024 and 2025. Your responses will help quantify the impacts on farming businesses, regional communities and the wider economy.

The research is being independently managed by Square Holes. Responses are confidential and will only be reported in aggregate. Some questions ask business owners and managers for approximate financial information. These are optional but will significantly improve the quality of the economic analysis.
