What do you normally do on a Saturday afternoon?
How about a High Tea to celebrate the Loxton Garden Clubโ€™s 70th Birthday.
Great day out and plenty of fundraising for RFDS & MND. Also got to spend time with Angela & Kevin the winners of the Garden Hat Competition, my lovely wife Colleen and many others.

What a long weekend!

I had the privilege of attending so many wonderful events over the long weekend, including opening the Australian Dirt Kart Titles at Tookyerta, attending the Loxton Show, and drawing the raffle for the Alawoona Silo Art Competition.

To top it all off, I attended the Aged Care Expo on Tuesday morning, where I had the opportunity to see firsthand the many valuable resources and services available to our community.

It was a busy few days (almost a normal weekend for me) and a fantastic opportunity to connect with our community, celebrate local achievements and learn more about the wonderful services available to support our region.

Ahead of the opening of the new East Terrace public amenities in Loxton in the coming months, we'd like to introduce a feature that will help make the facility more accessible for those who need it.

In addition to standard accessible and ambulant toilets, the new amenities will include a Changing Places bathroom designed for people with high support needs. This facility will be accessible via the Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK) system.

The MLAK system is a national initiative that provides eligible people living with disability with 24/7 access to dedicated accessible facilities across Australia.

An MLAK key can be used to access:
๐Ÿ”‘ Locked accessible public toilets
๐Ÿ”‘ Changing Places bathrooms with adult-sized change tables and hoists
๐Ÿ”‘ Accessible lifts at selected railway stations
๐Ÿ”‘ Inclusive playground equipment, including Liberty Swings

The MLAK system helps ensure these specialised facilities remain clean, safe and available for those who rely on them.

If you or someone you care for may be eligible, you can apply for an MLAK key through the Master Locksmiths Association of Australia via https://masterlocksmiths.com.au/mlak/
