While we don't have rural properties in our area, many of you have holiday homes or visit friends who are at higher risk of fire impacting properties that are more rural.
Reduce your grassfire risk on days when it's safe to do so. Slash, mow, graze and spray grass near your home and assets, and create fuel breaks 🌾cfa.vic.gov.au/ruralgrassfires 🚜

After a couple months fitting out, testing and getting to know our new support vehicle, we would like to officially introduce it to the community. We are so excited to be able to improve on the service we deliver to the community with our updated vehicle. Thank you all for making it possible!

Today is RU OK Day which is a great reminder to check in with the people around you.

In the CFA, we know the importance of looking out for each other. We spend a lot of time working as a team, supporting our community and being there when people need us most.

But sometimes, the person who needs someone to ask “Are you okay?” is the person standing right beside you.

A conversation can make a difference.
Ask. Listen. Check in. Follow up.

You don't need to have all the answers, sometimes just being there is enough.

Last week, one of our Junior's groups travelled down to the hot fire training ground to put some of their skills in to practice. They got to experience the reality of the heat and danger of firefighting in a safe and controlled environment thanks to the staff at the training ground. Also a big thanks to our Junior Leaders for helping facilitate and make this possible!
