AUSSIE BIRD COUNT 🦆🦉🐦

From 19-25 October 2026, you can take part in BirdLife Australia’s annual Aussie Bird Count. Collect a BirdLife Australia activity booklet at Kootingal Library and browse our collection of bird books to get ready for the count!

The Aussie Bird Count is a fun, easy way for all of us to take a national snapshot of the birds around us as we connect with nature. With just 20 minutes, you can help build a picture of how our feathered friends are faring and contribute to something that really counts.

Atlas Clubs are coming to Kootingal Library, with our first session for Term 4 on the 27th of October!

Atlas Clubs are an initiative of State Library of NSW to create safe and free online after-school clubs for kids 5 to 15 years old to be inspired and promote creativity! For more information about the Atlas Clubs, please visit the Atlas Club link below.

In the Young Writers Club, they'll be able to create captivating stories along with State Library's own creative writing team.

And in the Book Lovers Club, they'll be able to listen and ask questions to Australian authors about their books, spoiler-free so the kids can still enjoy and be amazed!
