On Sunday 25th October, Burra Foods experienced a potential safety incident at our Korumburra manufacturing site triggered by an unexpected failure in our refrigeration systems.

As a precautionary measure, all Burra Foods employees were evacuated from site, and emergency services were called for support in line with our company procedures and training.

All personnel were accounted for and no injuries were sustained. Once the issue was contained, site operations returned to normal later that day.

Burra Foods want to take this opportunity to thank the local emergency services for their extensive response and support. We would like to also acknowledge the calm and professional actions of our employees throughout the incident.

Vale Don Evison
11/11/1930 – 8/10/2026

It is with a heavy heart that we share the sad news of the passing of Don Evison.

Don was a dedicated member of the CFA at Korumburra for many years, giving countless hours of his time to help and support our local community.

His commitment, dedication and service to the brigade were greatly valued, and he was proudly recognised as a Life Member of the Korumburra Brigade.

Don leaves behind a lasting legacy of service and community spirit. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Don’s family, friends and loved ones at this difficult time.

Rest peacefully, Don. Thank you for your many years of service to our community.

A huge thanks to the Korumburra Fire Brigade and Ruby Fire Brigade for a lovely parkrun morning this week.
Also a huge shout-out to NSM Images who took the beautiful photos this week.
We hope everyone enjoyed hanging out with our local firies!
If any other community groups would like to host our parkrun to connect with our community we'd be stoked to hear from you. See you all next week!
