Twice a month we meet to train and refresh our knowledge on many different aspects of fire fighting.
One very important skill we focus on coming into the high threat period is the Burnover Drill. A Burnover is when an appliance (fire truck) is overrun by the fire and crews need to shelter within.

We hope we never need to use them but our appliances are fitted with
➡️ Water deluge systems,
➡️ Radiant heat shields,
➡️ Burn over blankets,
➡️ in cab breathing apparatus,
➡️ GPS Vehicle locators
➡️ Radio communications

Our crews practice quick and efficient response in implementing the various components of our protection systems to ensure that if we need to use them we know how

As the season warms and attention turns to preparing our properties for the upcoming bushfire season it’s a great time to make or review our bushfire plans.

Having a plan is one of the most important steps you can take to prepare for emergencies.
My Emergency Plan - https://www.emergency.wa.gov.au/plan
on Emergency WA website or app
https://www.emergency.wa.gov.au/
helps you:
• Identify local risks.
• Record important contact details.
• Plan for pets and family members.
• Document evacuation and meeting arrangements.

High fire danger rating for Friday 17 April 2026 🔥

We’ve received a high fire danger forecast for tomorrow.

🚫 All Permits to Burn are suspended 🚫

We know the weather forecast looks cool and wet, but with high winds and the cool change scheduled to come through late, it’s still a high-risk day.

Please do the right thing to help keep us all safe 🙏

Thank you to everyone who supports us ❤️

Your support means more to our firies than you realise 🥹🔥

Today, on Thank a Firey Day, show some love to the legends who run towards danger to keep our loved ones safe 💙

In the past year alone, our career and volunteer firefighters have responded to over 5,700 bushfires, 3,300 road crash rescues, 1,400 structure fires and countless other emergencies across the State, but the numbers don’t tell the full story.

Behind every call-out are hundreds of hours of training, missed family moments and relentless sacrifices, the early starts and quiet acts that often go unseen, like comforting someone on their worst day, teaching kids about fire safety, helping families who’ve lost everything or checking in on a mate doing it tough.

It takes courage, dedication and heart to do this job. It’s a tough gig and they do it to protect their community – time and time again.
