Spring is a good time to clear out what’s built up around your home. Remove leaves and debris from gutters and cut back overgrown vegetation close to the house.

Keeping these areas clear can help reduce the risk as bushfire season approaches.

🔥🏉 THE KNIGHTS ARE ON FIRE! 🔥

After a huge run of form, the Newcastle Knights are Grand Final bound! We thought it was only fitting that Lambton 357 showed a little support too!

While the Knights are busy bringing the heat on the field, our crews at Fire & Rescue NSW are ready to put out the fires wherever they’re needed! 🚒🔥

Here’s hoping the only thing burning this weekend is the Knights’ opposition! 😏

Go the Knights! ⚔️🔴🔵

🔥 WHEN DID YOU LAST CLEAN YOUR DRYER’S LINT FILTER? 👕🧺

It only takes a few seconds, but cleaning your dryer’s lint filter every time you use it is an important part of reducing the risk of fire.
Before you start your next load:

🧹 Clean the lint filter before or after every use.

🌬️ Make sure there is adequate airflow around your dryer and keep ventilation and exhaust areas clear.

👕 Don’t overload the dryer and always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

⚠️ Stop using the dryer if you notice unusual noises, smells, smoke, excessive heat or anything else that doesn’t seem right.

🏠 Make sure you have working smoke alarms in your home and test them regularly.

🔌 Check the appliance and power cord for signs of damage and never use faulty electrical appliances.

👀 Don’t leave the dryer running when you’re not home.

A few seconds of maintenance can help reduce the risk of a dryer fire.

Clean the lint. Check the dryer. Reduce the risk.
