Year 1/2S enjoyed using paper to test surface area and strength of paper. We discovered making a square column balanced up to five small books, whereas a triangular column did not hold the weight of the books!

We also observed that folding paper in tiny folds made a bridge between two books and it held up to 34 marbles in a tub!

Lots of fun!

Today, our school community celebrated World Teachers' Day, recognising and thanking our wonderful teachers for the dedication, care and commitment they show to students every day.

The day started with the whole school listening to a special song, created and dedicated to teachers. Teachers were then treated to a delicious morning tea from our admin team and some special cupcakes from our P&C. This was a lovely opportunity to relax and enjoy some well-deserved recognition.

Thank you to all the amazing teachers for everything you do. You are truly appreciated!

Thank you to Landsborough State School P&C Association for such a fun night. They work tirelessly behind the scenes to make events like this happen.

That’s a wrap!

Thanks to everyone who came last night to party with DJ-Candi. It was an amazing night and we are sure everyone is a bit tired this morning.

A very big thank you to all of our volunteers. We can’t do any of this without you.

🎶🎺🎷 Instrumental Music Success 🎺🎷🎶
Yesterday, our Combined School Band travelled to Ioana College to participate in Music Fest 2026. Our students received a SILVER AWARD for their performance. This is a fantastic achievement! Congratulations to Mr Meneely and our instrumental music students. It has been wonderful to see (and hear) your skills progress this year.

If your child is in Year 4, 5 or 6 next year and would like to join our Instrumental Music Program, please see our admin staff or Mr Meneely.
