Lawson 359 Fire Station is a fully Retained ("on call") Fire Brigade, which is part of Fire and Rescue New South Wales (FRNSW) in Australia.

Lawson is a township situated in the middle of the Blue Mountains and is approx. 89kms west of Sydney.

Fire and Rescue NSW Station 359 Lawson

Fire and Rescue NSW has had a presence in Lawson officially since the 1st November 1937, with our first Motor Engine No.113 delivered on the 29th October 1937 at 11:38am by DO S.S. C. Milledge.
The first station was located in a Garage on the Great Western Highway where the old shops used to be.
🔥 1938 🔥 Pictured are Firefighters in NSWFB Uniforms and the photo has "Hazelbrook 1938" written on the back.
Of note and interest are the branches and hoses, standpipe and house tap and a small fire engine in the foreground.

This week Fire and Rescue NSW Station 359 Lawson visited Possum Early Childhood Centre in Hazelbrook to share some basic Fire Safety information with the kids.
🧯 The kids got to have a look at and sit in our truck 🚒, spray some water as well as learn about Fire Safety 🔥.
They also practiced "Get down Low and Go, Go, GO!" and learned what to do in a fire.
One preschooler even got a nice surprise when her Dad walked in!

Back in 2013 during the bushfires in the Blue Mountains, Fire and Rescue NSW Station 359 Lawson became a Central Communication Centre, where dozens of appliances from around NSW - both Fire and Rescue NSW and NSW Rural Fire Service were tasked to jobs from our Station.
And on the 23rd October Channel 7 with broadcast the 6pm news from our station as well.
