Every day, 830 unaccompanied young people seek help from homelessness services - a 17% increase in just one year, according to Australian Institute of Health and Welfare data.
Anglicare WA has joined youth peak bodies, frontline services, and courageous young people with lived experience in a coalition calling on the WA Government to end youth homelessness and act on the following:
🏠 Housing First for Youth - crisis accommodation, Youth Foyers, and more social and affordable housing
🧭 Early intervention and prevention, including place-based youth hubs
🤝 A stronger, better coordinated youth homelessness sector
🔊 Embedding young people’s voices in policy and service design
As the richest state in one of the richest nations in the world, Western Australia can end youth homelessness and ensure no child goes without a safe place to sleep at night. Find out how you can be part of the solution below.

Rates of child poverty in WA have doubled in a decade but there is a severe lack of crisis accommodation available. ‼️ 🛌
As part of The Ending Child and Youth Homelessness coalition we're calling on the State Government to consider urgent investment in accommodation, prevention and early intervention initiatives as part of its recent Pre-Budget Submission.

Yesterday, we welcomed Mr Dan Bull MLA, Member for Maylands, to Foyer Oxford to learn how Anglicare WA, Foundation Housing Ltd, and North Metropolitan TAFE provide safe, stable housing for 98 young people, including 24 young parents and their children.
Foyer is a calm space centrally located in the heart of Leederville for people aged 16 to 24 who are experiencing or are at risk of homelessness. For up to two years, alongside their accommodation young people are offered fully integrated support that helps them strengthen their employment, education, and life skills, guiding them toward lasting stability and independence.
Mr Bull toured the facility with Anglicare WA CEO Mark Glasson, Youth Services Service Manager, Sally Savage, and Jasmine, a current Foyer resident and received an overview of the services offered to young people at Foyer Oxford.
If you'd like to learn more about Foyer, a place where young people can live, work, learn and thrive please head to the website: https://www.foyeroxford.org.au/.

Finding housing can be hard and expensive. 🏠 ⁉️
If you are on a waitlist for, currently in or used to live in public or community housing, Shelter WA would like to hear from you about how you manage to juggle work while keeping your home.
Your voice matters. Help us understand how current housing rules might be holding people back from working or living the life they want. Your feedback can help make sure no one has to choose between a job and a safe home.
The survey is anonymous and should only take around 10-15 minutes. Access the survey here until Sunday 15 March: https://www.shelterwa.org.au/our-work/advocacy/income-eligibility-research-project/

WA you have blown us away with your generosity! 💨 🧡 👏
The overwhelming kindness we've experienced in response to our Christmas Appeal, St John WA Giving Tree partnership, School Backpack Appeal and the Giving Machine Perth at Lakeside Joondalup has been nothing short of AMAZING.
These photos show just how much love is in the air this festive season. Whether it’s life‑changing item purchases from the Giving Machine Perth, generous donations to our Young Hearts program, brand‑new school backpacks packed with stationary for children in our services, or Christmas gifts for children experiencing disadvantage, the Christmas spirit shone brightly right across the state.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all of the schools, organisations, small businesses, families, and individuals who have given back to their communities this year. We couldn't do what we do, without you. ❤️🎄

While this season can bring joy and celebration, it can also be a challenging time for many.
Our annual Christmas Appeal is designed to bring some relief to those who are doing it tough. This festive season, Young Hearts, a service for children and young people affected by family and domestic violence, needs your support.
Last year, over 400 young people sought the help of Young Hearts and every person was able to receive counselling for free thanks to generous donors like you. There are too many young people who are struggling to manage the trauma of experiencing FDV and your donation today will help break the cycle.
If you are able, we invite you to visit our website below to help give children across the state the gift of a brighter year ahead.

🗂️ Stand up and speak out. Save/screenshot this post and find ways to get involved in your area during 16 Days in WA. 📸
Today marks the beginning of 16 Days in WA, an impactful campaign that draws inspiration from the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
This year’s theme, Stopping Family & Domestic Violence: Play Your Part, calls on all of us to take action. With workshops, marches, panel discussions, and events happening across the state, there are several ways to get involved and make a difference.
Anglicare WA also has a range of services that continue to support people who have been affected by domestic violence. We’re proud to stand with the 16 Days in WA campaign and remain committed to driving change well beyond these 16 days.
Visit the official website below if you want to find out more about all of the registered events happening from 25 November through to 10 December.

So…is it kind of obvious that one of our Pridefest Fairday favourites was the Puppy Parade?! 🐶 🏳️🌈
Yesterday was an amazing day of community celebration, dazzling live music and entertainment, LGBTQIA+ stallholders, delicious eats, as well as market stalls offering an array of rare and remarkable finds. There truly was something for everyone.
We'd like to say a big thank you to Pride WA for having us be part of a festival bursting with diversity, inclusion, and the lively spirit that brings Western Australia together.
Anglicare WA is proud to continue creating spaces where every individual feels seen, valued, and empowered to be themselves.🧡💙
