It has been a very busy 24 hours for Alphadale Brigade, with a marathon of incidents spanning yesterday evening and stretching into this morning.
π₯ 13th August @ 5:50pm
Alphadale Brigade were activated for reports of an abandoned vehicle on Alphadale Rd. Crews found the vehicle obstructing the southbound lane, and assisted Police in pushing the vehicle out of the way.
π₯ 13th August @ 9:20pm
Alphadale Brigade were reactivated to reports of a truck fire on the Pacific Hwy at New Italy, crews arrived to find a B-double carrying paper and cardboard well alight. Swift work from RFS and FRNSW crews allowed the fire to be brought under control, with BA crews and appliance-mounted water monitors used for the lengthy mop-up process.
π₯ 14th August @ 3:50am
Just as the remaining crews at the truck fire had finished mopping up and were about to leave, reports of a structure fire at Evans Head came in. Due to the proximity of this new incident and the completion of the truck fire incident, crews were responded directly from the scene. Crews arrived to find an abandoned house well alight and already on the ground. Using the front monitor on the bulk water and hand lines from FRNSW, quick suppression was achieved with RFS tankers ferrying water from a nearby hydrant. Due to fatigue from the previous incident, relief crews were requested and the existing crews released once containment was established.
Alphadale Pumper returned to station and shut down at around 7am, almost ten hours after the initial truck fire call.
A huge thank you to all crews for their massive dedication and hard work, especially on such a cold night βοΈ
