Sunday 06/09/26 we have High Fire Danger.
Fires can start easily and spread quickly. Be alert and ready to act.
Check local conditions and any fire bans before you burn. Fires under 2m still need to follow Logan City Council rules when conditions allow burning.
All fires are classed as an emergency in QLD and are to be reported by calling triple zero (000).

AFAC’s Spring 2026 bushfire outlook is out.

On the Queensland map, Logan Village sits in the average-risk zone. The red increased-risk area is further inland across the southern interior (including the Darling Downs and Granite Belt).

Average risk does not mean no risk. AFAC is clear: bushfires can still happen in areas with a normal seasonal outlook, and south-east Queensland is heading into a warmer spring with below-average soil moisture in places.

What you can do now:
• Know your local risk and update your bushfire plan
• Clear gutters, slash long grass, and tidy up around the house
• Check fire bans and local conditions before you burn
• Follow advice from Queensland Fire Department and your local brigade

🔥 COME AND SEE US THIS SATURDAY 🔥

Our brigade will be on site alongside the Rangers this Saturday.

If you’ve got questions about bushfire safety, preparing your property or getting a Bushfire Survival Plan sorted, come and have a chat with us 👋

🗓 When: Saturday 22 August
⏰ Time: 9AM
📍 Where: Steele Road entrance to Plunkett Conservation Park

The Rangers will be talking through the fireline upgrade works happening in the protected areas south of Brisbane.
Firelines are a key part of QPWS fire management. They act as a strategic barrier — stopping runaway fires from reaching properties, and giving park managers and firefighters safe access when it matters most.

Over the coming year, more than 20 boundary firelines will be upgraded across the urban interface parks:
📍 Daisy Hill Conservation Park
📍 Carbrook Wetlands Conservation Park
📍 Buccan Conservation Park
📍 Plunkett Conservation Park
📍 Wolffdene section, Edward Corbould Nature Refuge

👏 Well done to all our recipients, and thank you to the families who make that service possible.

🔥 HAZARD REDUCTION BURN – PLUNKETT CONSERVATION PARK 🔥

Please be advised that Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) is planning a hazard reduction burn at Plunkett Conservation Park TODAY, Saturday 6 June 2026.

📍 Where: Plunkett Conservation Park – between Graham Circuit, Roylen Close, Pineview Road, Steele Road, Dolostone Street and Marl Crescent
📏 Size: Approximately 33 hectares
🕒 When: Commencing around 3:00pm and continuing late into the evening

💨 Smoke may affect Yarrabilba, Logan Village, Cedar Creek, Tamborine and Jimboomba. If you’re sensitive to smoke, keep windows and doors closed and bring washing inside.

⚠️ Smoke hazard signs and closures will remain in place until Monday 8 June 2026. The site and surrounds will stay closed until deemed safe.

There’s no need to be alarmed if you see smoke or fire crews in the area — this is a planned, controlled burn to reduce bushfire risk in our community. 🚒

See the map below for the burn location and extent. 👇

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Lest we forget
