Congratulations to our speedy students Ezra S, Blaise B, Bobbi B and Riley B for representing Vic Park last Friday at the Cathy Freeman Run Schools Challenge.

The team placed 1st in their heat and were the only state school in the primary school final! They ran well and finished 4th overall 👏🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️ well done kids!

We've Raised Over $15,000 – Let the Sliming Begin!

WOW! Our Victoria Park State School community has officially raised over $15,000! What an incredible effort! 👏🎉
Reaching our first fundraising milestone meant one thing… Mr Gary was getting SLIMED!
And who better to do the honours than our fundraising superstar Meah, who has raised a whopping $1,040, making her our highest individual fundraiser so far! 🌟
A special shout-out to students in 2C, who are our highest fundraising class this week! 🏆👏
A HUGE thank you to everyone who has donated and supported our fundraising efforts.

🎯 NEXT TARGET: $20,000!
And guess who's next in line for a sliming? MRS MUTTON! 😱

🥳🥳 It's Slime Time! 🥳🥳

Vic Park students have exceeded our first goal of raising $15,000 towards our colour fun run. This means at today's parade (2.15pm school hall) our highest fundraising student will be sliming Mr Gary.

Next goal is set at $20,000 and it is our fearless Principal, Mrs Mutton up for sliming grabs. Only 11 days to go.

YEAR 6 CAMP DAY 5
Today started with a delicious breakfast. We packed our bags and said a huge thank you to our amazing caterers, Janelle and Graham. We then caught the bus to the stores in the Main Street in Airlie beach and enjoyed having some time to go shopping. After that we headed to have lunch at Hogs Breath. We all enjoyed delicious meals and ice cream and now we are on the bus back to Mackay, heading through Proserpine. We’ve had a really fun camp week. This week has been a blast between the snorkelling and seeing fish and feeding them, but all good things come to an end. Overall we’ve had a great experience and would recommend participating in year 6 camp to all VPSS students in the future.

🚌🏕️Year 6 Campers – Homeward Bound!

Our Year 6 campers have officially departed Airlie Beach and are on their way home!

Their estimated arrival time is 2:15pm.

We’ll keep families updated if there are any changes to their arrival time.

We’re sure there will be plenty of stories and wonderful memories to share!

🎻🎶South Side Beginner Strings – A Day of Music and Fun!🎶🎻

Students from Chelona, Mackay West and Victoria Park State Schools came together for the first time on their beginner strings journey!

It was a fantastic day of music, learning and laughter as students learnt new pieces, improved their techniques and enjoyed making new friends.

A special highlight was seeing Mrs Nacev fulfil her dream of playing the cello! 🎻It's never too late to learn something new!

A huge thank you to Mrs Pengelly for organising this wonderful event, along with Ms Mora, Miss Menzies, Mrs Teong and Mrs Nacev for their support and dedication.

What a wonderful opportunity for our young musicians to learn, connect and grow! 🎶

CATHY FREEMAN SCHOOL CHALLENGE – TODAY!

We've got four of our amazing Victoria Park students, Bobbi, Blaise, Ezra & Riley, representing our school in the Cathy Freeman School Challenge relay this afternoon at Harrup Park!

The event kicks off at approximately 4:00pm, and we'd love to see our school community come along to cheer them on!

If you're free this afternoon, pop down to Harrup Park, show your Vic Park pride and help us cheer our runners across the finish line!

YEAR 6 CAMP DAY 4
Today started by waking up quite early, having really good bacon & egg burgers for breakfast, and then we hopped on the bus to head to the Cruise Whitsunday terminal. After a short ride on the boat, we arrived at Daydream Island with nice and sunny skies. We got to feed stingrays, a shovel-nose ray, and had an amazing lunch of burgers and chips in the restaurant. We also went in an underground observatory to see lots of fish at The Living Reef. Getting to hold a sea star and sea cucumber was so fun. Charlotte taught us about the effects of tourism on the Great Barrier Reef, both positive and negative. We took a casual stroll along the boardwalk which led us to a pool next to the beach. There, we enjoyed the clear blue water and almost had the whole pool to ourselves! This afternoon, when we got back from Daydream Island, we all went either swimming or to the jumping pillow (again!). After a while, we came back and we got ready for dinner, which was delicious roast chicken and gravy rolls. Janelle (our amazing caterer) had baked us brownies to have with ice cream for dessert. We loved it! While we were at dinner, we shared moments we were grateful for throughout the camp. Tomorrow is our last day and we can't wait to see our families back home.
