☀️Wow, the sun is shining, there's a lot to celebrate today! We're asking our community to also think about celebrating our valley's special people, teams and volunteers by nominating them for the 2027 Nambucca Valley Community Awards.

Nominations are now open in all the usual categories: Citizen of the Year, Senior Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Indigenous Citizen of the Year, Young Indigenous Citizen of the Year, sports awards, cultural achievement and others.

So please think about who is a little ray of sunshine in our valley and nominate them by 4pm Friday 13 November 2026. The awards ceremony will be held in January 2027.

To nominate someone, please visit https://www.nambucca.nsw.gov.au/Community/Community-Info-Local-History/Nambucca-Valley-Community-Awards

🫶There's only about 10 days to go to shop local, scan the QR code on posters in participating stores, and go into the draw to win a $200 voucher in a local store of your choosing.

So whether you're in the market for a surfboard from Nambucca Surf Co, high fashion from InTouch boutique or a haircut, there's everything you need right here in our valley.

🗨️ We're creating an Event Strategy for the valley and we're reviewing our processes to help make it easier to hold events.

We have a survey open at the moment to get your feedback about events. Whether you're an organisation who regularly puts on events and activities, a community hall, sports field, or a different venue that hosts events, we'd love to hear your feedback.

Promise, it's a quick survey and it closes 30 October 2026. Take the survey here: https://www.nambucca.nsw.gov.au/Community/Events-in-Nambucca-Valley/Events-Strategy

This project is being delivered through a Permit/Plug/Play program grant, led by Transport for NSW.
